It’s Eclipse DVD time and I’ve got a party for you!

(*moon note: sorry for the delay in posting! major interwebz outage in LA last night that put a kink in my writing schedule. but never fear i am here! enjoy your weekend and your DVDs!!)

It all begins with a choice! Or something...

Dearest LTT-ers,

It’s that time of the year again. A new DVD is being released and we’re forced to decided between 3248235482 versions when all we want are deleted scenes (x rated extended leg hitch scene), the real commentary (Rob and Kristen talking about how much they read us), a making of docu, and a preview of BD… but since we won’t get those I’ll leave you to decide between all the choices. My choice? The Target one, I heard there’s a picture in picture option on the Robsten commentary and I want to feel like I’m sitting in the middle of a king size water bed with Rob and Kristen as we drink coco and enjoy a few laughs. What’s better than feeling the motion in Robsten’s ocean while hearing them talk about the magicness they found in catering one day. Finally, those catering people remembered to Fed Ex In-n-Out for the cast and how they teased Taylor with the meat patties. The hilarity I tell ya! Clearly, this will all happen while watching the Eclipse DVD by myself!

So now you’ve figured out which DVD to buy (the water bed one) but you need to figure out which place to celebrate! Seems that Walmart is having ‘parties’ all over the US and Blockbuster on Larchmont in LA is hosting Tinsel and some trivia but if fantasizing about Riley in the garden section with a toothless bumpkin isn’t your idea of a good Friday night or you don’t live in shi-shi Larchmont in LA then why don’t you host your own event? That’s what I’ll be doing. It’s called the “Adult women celebrate a 17 year old vampire they never tell their real life friends about so they gather with their internet friends to oogle said boy vampire and get drunk because that’s normal party.” Sounds like fun, right? Sounds like every day to me.

We’ve seen what the Twimoms can do with a party when left to their own devices, See: The Oprah show. If you’re here we know you don’t have a red bathrug cum red carpet in your basement or even have a shirt with a cast member’s face on it, or have dipped Team Jacob/Edward specific strawberries. We’re all “adults” here so I’ll give you step by step instructions for an LTT/LTR approved Eclipse party…

Eclipse DVD parties RULE!

Run to the nearest liquor store and stock up on booze (boxed wine for folks like Jane Trigs, cheap champagne for people like The Font, whatever’s on sale for UC), get some crackers and cheese and a chocolate bar at the TJ’s nearest you, buy whatever DVD you want, put on some sweatpants, eat the cheese and make inappropriate noises whenever a male cast member comes on screen. Fast forward through the women. Presto! Instant party!

You’re Welcome!
Themoonisdown

So what are your plans for the DVD? Throwing an LTT approved party? Going to Wally World? Opening your mailbox and taking out the DVD? Spill it!

Our internet game is ridiculous: LTR, The Forum, Twitter, The Store

I ordered it from Amazon because then it would just get thrown in with the other “Christmas presents” .
I hope it arrives tomorrow, as Mr. Snow will be out of town. Snow jr. will be at grammys. Sooo, I’ll have a Twi-NewMoon-Eclipse movie marathon: party of 1… but wine for 6. ;)

    • http://www.talksupe.wordpress.com snowwhitedrifted

Holy cow, first comment?!!! That’s never happened before. LTT posted in my time zone! ;)

    • Themoonisdown

      wine for six!!

        uh weird my icon…..

        “Let’s DO this!”

  • http://letterstotwilight.com UnintendedChoice

I love you. and don’t understand the “Cum red carpet” part and if that was a joke I missed or a typo

    • http://letterstotwilight.com UnintendedChoice

apparently it’s not a typo, it’s how you “pronounce it” and i still don’t understand. also- that gold dress on that mod cloth ad right now? I WANT. and is that barbie or a real girl? also it’s friday & i’m hyper. also i love you all

      • Anonymous

        me too

      • Anonymous

she’s freakishly Barbie-ish, but she rocks the dress!

  • northernlights

Boo, we’ll have to wait until Monday in UK! I think…

  • northernlights

PS. I haven’t seen Eclipse yet. Somehow the time was never right and all of a sudden it wasn’t in theatres anymore. Am I still allowed to lurk at LTT?

    • Anonymous

Wow! That’s kind of exciting actually. It’ll be virgin territory… it’s like an unreceived gift for you. And in Australia it’s out according to Sj, so maybe in UK it is too? I thought it was the 4th everywhere.

  • Anonymous

I will probably just pick up one of the versions at midnight.
NONE of the stores in my area are doing any sort of party, except Walmart is offering some sort of “special fan pack” that looks like it includes some temporary tattoos – and I am not standing in line for three hours just so I can make a Cullen crest tramp stamp – and I don’t know what else, because when I called the guy said to ‘wait and see’.
(And from the sound of his voice, I think he had something like this in mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5HSrhaW6-M )

  • tigerkitten36

I think Im going to Wally world to pick up a copy. Though, I would really like the once Moon is getting… Not sure yet if adult beverages will be involved my goirlfriend wants to bring the kids (our oldest are 10) so that we can lead them into the madness.

My oldest declared herself “Team Jacob”, I may have to disown her, but what does she know – shes 10.

    • MariaCecilia

Oh, it’s okay:Taycob is more her age anyway – you stick with the 109-year old and have him to yourself Tigerkitten… :-)

  • MariaCecilia

I got my copy in the mail this afternoon, and since I was already holed up in bed with a cold I have spent the hours since watching the film and the extras with a small marguerita to keep me and the cough medecine company..Now I am getting cross eyed and going to bed, will do the commentary in the morning. Oh, and those weren’t by any chance meat patties they were throwing for Taylor Lautner to catch with his mouth, were they? *cough cough*

    • MariaCecilia

..and now it’s morning again and I have watched the commentary with Rob and Kristen, which was kind of lame, (but I enjoyed the cheeseburgers and Heineken references – which seemed completely in character) except for the fact that Kristen totally vindicated my feelings, the one thing that I really reacted against in the script: Bella’s fake little speech at the end, which Mel must have put in there either to soothe Edward’s guilt or the feelings of all those who are upset that Bella is throwing her life away for her abusive boyfriend. Kristen commented that what is obviously motivating Bella is her love for Edward, period. All the rest “I can be myself in your world”-BS is just icing on the cake or evasion. There, thank you Kristen, now I feel better! :-)

I’ll be praying I receive it for Christmas, as I can’t take the European dvd’s home with me. Thank goodness for sites where you can watch movies online! I’m sad I’m missing the celebrations at home, but I have all of you to “celebrate” with.

    BOXED WINE Bitches!

    • Anonymous

      we know you

    • Anonymous

YOU TELL ‘EM…(They make wine in a box??)

      • MariaCecilia

They don’t need to MAKE it in the box to DRINK it out of the box, duh… But it could be an interesting challenge to try!!

    • Anonymous

Is that a picture of you there, Jane Trigs?

  • Blondieinco

“Adult women celebrate a 17 year old vampire they never tell their real life friends about so they gather with their internet friends to oogle said boy vampire and get drunk because that’s normal party.”

Someone need to create an evite for this kind of party. I am contemplating faking a cold right after I return from Target with my copy so my fam will let me lay in bed all day watching Eclipse.

  • Nettie

The hubs is going to Walmart at midnight JUST to pick up a dvd! He’s doing it for me so I don’t have to do it myself- he’s a keeper! I told him he’ll be standing in line with a bunch of screamy tweenage girls, and a bunch of horny Twilight moms our age. Somehow, that scared him. LOL!

I’ve listened to the commentary already (that’s normal), and Rob is drinking Arnold Palmer iced tea. Only he was confused about how to pronounce it- hilarious! So perhaps we should all drink Arnold Palmers?

    • Dionrenee

Horny Twilight Mom here….I’ll be standing in line next to your hubby :>

      • Nettie

lmao! I didn’t tell him that I qualify, too…gotta keep my cover. :)

  • Anonymous

I’m holding out to buy the giant boxed set of all five movies three years from now. I’m weird like that, I didn’t own BD until it came out in paperback to match the others (because I didn’t just buy the boxed set to start with). But the hubby (book unicorn, disliker of Twi-movies) is working all day tomorrow, and I have a coupon for a download from Amazon, so I’ll probably do that after the tree is decorated and the kiddo’s asleep. The alcohol that would undoubtably make the movie better is out thanks to pending baby #2, but I like Nettie’s idea of Arnold Palmers. Especially appropriate to the proposal scene.

    • no cool name

      Congrats on baby #2 – I’ve got #5 on the way here (cr.a.zy, I know…)

      • Anonymous

        CONGRATULATIONS!! XO

      • P.S.

Congrats on #2 & #5! #4 on the way here (also crazy, my oldest is 14!) My sister called this week to let me know she ordered me a copy of Eclipse as a thank you for watching her kids a lot lately, which was so nice of her, but when will it be here???? I guess I’ve waited this long, I can wait a little longer!

      • Midnight Cougar (MC)

Oh how wonderful! Congratulations, & you thought you had the flu?! :)

        • no cool name

Oh, I had the flu! Just had baby-sickness in ADDITION. It was lovely.

      • Anonymous

Congrats on all of these new soon-to-be Twi babies NCN and BD!

        • no cool name

Thank you! And congrats to P.S., too!

    • MariaCecilia

Congrats on baby no 2! Take my advice, though, and stop there. You and your hubby don’t want to be strategically outnumbered..
Guess I will follow your example and stick with the ice tea today, since I am still sick..

  • no cool name

Haven’t decided if I’ll be buying…can’t decide if I want to endure the mockery from the husband for purchasing such a movie. Then again, he has ended up beta-ing my silly Twilight fanfic and being unbelievably cool about it, so maybe I’m not giving him enough credit.

Also, he’s in a stomach-bug induced stupor right now and would probably be too sick and dizzy to even notice if I got in the car and drove to Wal-Mart right now to wait in line. Hmmm. Plan forming…

p.s. Moon – one of the funniest posts I’ve read from you, and that’s saying a lot. It got me RIGHT THERE in the funny bone and I can’t stop laughing. Virtual high five.

    • Anonymous

HI THERE!Missed you! Is our WalMart even open for the big night??If so, must formulate a plan to bribe daughter to go get me my very own!! Otherwize I am reduced to watching it on Payperview at Midnight! Hope your hubs is better soon! Hugs! (Maybe by BD we can organize our own LTT party!!) Hugs

      • no cool name

        1) Thanks for the congrats – #5 is IT, though. That’s all my mind/body can handle!! :)

        2) Don’t know if our Wal-Mart is open or not, but I’m tempted to check it out… Also, you realize by admitting that MY Wal-Mart is YOUR Wal-Mart, I have a better understanding of how close we are in proximity…careful! One of these days I’m going to actually figure out where you live and show up on your doorstep with Rice Krisbians and a copy of Eclipse and FORCE you to hang out!! Don’t think I won’t… :)

        3) LTT party here? In the River Valley? Invite JodieO? Yes, please!!!! Sign me up! (Of course, if we wait until BD, then I’ll have to bring the new little bundle along, which, while adorable, I’m sure, might put a cramp in my Edward-ogling style. You know, having to take diaper-changing and nursing breaks. Sigh.)

        • Anonymous

1)I am making a post it to remind myself & you that you said only 5! (I wanted 6) Hey if you ever need a babysitter let me know, my daughter was/is a professional nanny and THE best babysitter you could ask for!

2)I will give you another hint..we are equal distances away from WalMart! AND if I can ever get my house and myself in a good enough shape I will even tell you where I live and you can bring all the kiddo’s over and let them run wild..then another time we can have a grown ups visit and watch all 3 movies eat krispies and have a great time!! We can definately ogle Eddie all we want..but remember he’s mine :)
3)We can still have our BD party the baby has to sleep sometime?
Seriously, congratulations! I am so happy for you and BTW I have read your story and it is FANTASTIC!!!! You are really talented!! Course I have to start from the beginning every time cause it doesn’t stay, but its so good it is well worth it! Super hugs!!!

          • no cool name

Does your town begin and end with a D? If so, I know where you liiiiiive!

And if you do live in D******d, then do you read the Times? Before I started having kids I wrote for that paper and did a story on a Cyndi who lives in D******d who was a huge Celine Dion fan and won a contest to go see her in concert in Vegas. That can’t be you, can it?

And I am ALL FOR getting together. You name the time and place. :)

p.s. Thanks for reading my story…working on chapter 15 today.
p.p.s. Yes, five kids is for sure IT. This will be c-section #5 and the doctor will probably freak out if I talk about #6. So it’s not going to happen. I think I’ll be busy enough with five kids ages six and under.

          • Anonymous

I will NEVER tell :) Hugs you!

          • Anonymous

BTW Never did get my Eclipse :(

          • Anonymous

            Oh no :(

          • no cool name

Alright, alright, I’ll leave it alone! :) Bummer that you didn’t get Eclipse – my husband got it from Redbox for me (without me even asking…awww) but I have to wait until the kids go to bed to watch it. There is NO WAY I could pay attention with my little darlings running around. Mr. Name said he might even watch it with me. :)

          • Anonymous

Tell me what you think of it after you watch it! I can’t wait to see it..(can’t wait to read more of your story)! xo

Totes normal that I have that song about friends in my head, but that I changed the words to walmart:

          • Anonymous

Oops! Sorry, it’s TeamSeth, but the Disqus thingy already had a TeamSeth, so I changed to this. But if I forget to log into it, then it still post me as TeamSeth. So, for all intensive purposes, I am both TeamCurmudgeon and TeamSeth :) Both names have the same avi, so that’s useful in identifying me as me.

          • Anonymous

Well Hi there!! :) I am never going to remember this name! (Plus the avi’s are too small for me to see) so sorry if I ask you again!! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Hugs!!

  • http://twitter.com/Jayde17 Jaydey

Usually I thrown my own party. But I’ve decided not to bother. My RL friends just don’t get it or appreciate it like all my Twitter friends (AKA all of you) would. Sad. Also, I don’t even have my DVD yet. It was due out here in Oz on 1/12 (or 12/1 as you write it up there) but there was no embargo so it came out (TWSS) two days early. But I’m a broke, jobless uni student who is stingy so I’m waiting for it to be on sale.

    • MariaCecilia

I hear you. None of my RL friends are into Twilight either. So I guess I’ll just be toasting the computer screen, as per usual…here’s to all you ladies out there! Skål!

      • Anonymous

Whoa! What is going on? Skå… as in Sweden?

        • northernlights

Yes, it’s Swedish. One would say “Cheers” in English.

  • robsfuturemate

Alrighty, I’m one of those having an LTT approved DVD release Party!! Don’t judge, I don’t have a red carpet but chocolate covered strawberries do sound delish! Okay, really I’m just super excited to get into the Twi Spirit and drink some amazing beverages!! We’re gonna have Mai Twi’s (thanks latersbaby!) and Bloody Bella’s and some non alcholic “Newborn” drink. I need some suggestions for the Newborn name!!!! We do have some games with fab prizes to keep people on their toes. And I decided to play LegHitch-Imprint-Hunt as a convo opener. But the best part (yes, the beverages but) is the making fun of the movie with wonderful friends!

    • Anonymous

Newborn drink = The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

Because really, how long can you stay away from the Mai Twis?!

I’m pretty jealous, I really want to come to this party. It sounds really fun. I’ll bring the Face Punch.

      • robsfuturemate

I love that name (although long)! I went with Newborn Cooler since their apparently is a drink called “Newport Cooler.” And how could I have forgotten about Face Punch?! Next time, lol!

And if I still lived in OR you could’ve come! But alas no, I’m in So Cal waiting for my glimpse of the Pretty!

    • LatersBaby

I hope your party was terrific! I’m grading..grading…grading…be back soon

  • Anonymous

The DVD comes out this weekend?

I kid, I kid. (Although in all honesty for the longest time I thought it was coming out the first Tuesday in December, not the Saturday… realized my mistake about 2 weeks ago. Yes, I am the world’s biggest Twilight fan.)

I would totally go to an awesome DVD release party with boxed wine and chocolate strawberries (even if they sort of creep me out because on some level I can’t help but think the Twi-moms were being kinda racist with them) but alas I will likely be downloading it from iTunes and viewing and re-viewing and re-viewing the proposal scene then falling asleep to boring battle scenes later tonight/tomorrow night. Wait a sec…does the commentary come with the iTunes version? If not I’m in trouble ’cause I don’t want to buy the DVD but do want to hear the commentary for its legendary nod to LTT!

    • Anonymous

Oh no… I just bought the iTunes version and only got the Rob/you-know-who commentary, not the one with Stephenie!!! Noooooo… I hate you Steve Jobs.

I’m not a good enough fan to go out into the cold/snow/amongst germy Christmas shoppers to get the real DVD.

When I read this at first, I thought you’d said “jorts down.” Freudian LTT Slip. I must have a dirty mind. :)

  • Midnight Cougar (MC)

It’s Saturday morning, & I have already purchased my “Eclipse” DVD! I bought the 2 Disc Walmart Version. We don’t have a Target here in Canada. It was only $14.93 Canadian. My daughter & I are all set for our “Eclipse” party tonight, we’ve got popcorn, Pepsi for her & a bottle of wine for me. Can’t wait. She is watching the Extended/Deleted scenes as I type this, but I had already seen them on Robsessed. Happy “Eclipse” Weekend!

  • Anonymous

I bought it this morning at Target. No party bc I & my friends are lame…and my Target closes at 11pm.

My version was the super secret version-only available to people who shop at Target a minimum of 5 times/week. (I actually shop there at least 8 times/week but there wasn’t a super super secret version available for us shopaholics.) What makes it so special? It has a magical button that allows me to mute a certain someone while listening to the commentary. It’s called the “We Know The Only Person You Care About Is Rob Pattinson” version.

    • robsfuturemate

You are awesome!!!! I guess I should have never cut back on my Target shopping cause I really need that magical button!!

on a similar note, I just discovered the “jump to” feature where you can either jump to Jacob or Edward scenes, depending on your “Team”. Oh, Twilight, Twilight, Twilight. You never fail to impress.

      • Anonymous

Yes! Mine has that too! The Edward or Jacob fast forward they call it. I always thought that was a joke, like people did it themselves and called it that. Apparently not. Anyhow, I wish there was a Charlie Fast Forward ;)

  • Anonymous

Didn’t buy it. Don’t know if I will, unless it’s from the bargain bin in 6 months. But I did contemplate renting it at the video store last night, but since they usually only have the bare bones version, no commentary or deleted scenes, I gave it a miss. BUT I still qualify as a rabid fan because the movie I ended up renting “Cemetery Junction” I heard about from watching a British talk show that featured Christina Ricci talking about Bel Ami and Rob, and coincidentally, Ricky Gervais talking about this movie he made.

  • Anonymous

Sigh. There’s more than one version again? I swear, if my best buy version doesn’t have the LTT shout out commentary, I’ll cry. Going to pick it up today, after I eat enough to feel comfortable driving (um, hello hangover and epically melodramatic night last night. Ugh. Never.Drinking.Again.) Then I too will be making hot chocolate (swiss miss! woot) sitting alone on my couch and ignoring everything else until Mr. Seth comes home from work.

  • Anonymous

It was almost embarrassing the enormity of the smile that crossed my face when Stephenie discussed “jorts” on the Eclipse commentary with Wyk. So proud of you girls! SO cool that your site made it into the movie commentary. :D

It was loads of fun listening to Stephanie and Wyk. All the information -especially mentionings of jorts… and not to forget the mention of korts(!)- was great (Wyk: “the jorts rule”). Steph was so funny, had me cracking up – she and Wyk had great commentary exchange. I liked learning how much Stephenie fought for to make it right. And I love that she wasn’t afraid to laugh at and pick on what she didn’t like or didn’t think worked. Go Steph!

Rob & Kristen commentary was funny too. SO glad that their commentary was back with Eclipse. It awkwardly hilarious just as I had hoped it would be.

ahem – Yes. I have “watched” (well, listened while getting the house ready for my daughter’s family birthday party tomorrow) it twice through today so I could listen to both commentary versions. Don’t judge.

    • Anonymous

Judge? I envy you. You have a choice, and you’re choosing wrong–wait, oops. Okay, so I’m envious you got to watch it/listen to it twice! I only got to watch it once through before Mr. Seth came home! (Or Mr. Curmudgeon–hm, that would be funny!)

      • Anonymous

Yeah, well it was only possible because Mr JacobEdward (gosh that sounds funny…. though Mr Curmudgeon is hilar) went to an NBA game with a buddy. So the moment he left, I popped the movie in for the first round while the girls played (okay so it woudln’t have been possible if the kidlets weren’t playing so well together either). Then, I made them supper. And then they watched a movie before bed (bad mom) while I started watching it for the 2nd go-round.

That’s dedication, I tell you. Especially since it SERIOUSLY impared my preparation skills. It’s taken me WAY behind given I’d stopped to laugh with Steph/Wyk and Rob/Kristen so many times. Eh, it was worth it.

  • Jenny

I bought the DVD at Walmart (NOT at midnight) and watched it tonight with just one Twi-friend over pizza, Twizzlers, and Milk Duds. We made lots of comments about the beauty that is Edward, Taylor’s awesome body and tiny nipples, Jasper’s flowing locks, and just had an overall great time! My friend just left to go home and I’m fighting the urge to watch it again the the commentary. (Rob and Kristen’s of course.)

  • robsfuturemate

Well, our party was a success! We even had a couple unicorns there!!! Yay! Now, I’m gonna relax and enjoy me some RobCom! (too bad I don’t have that magical button) Should I get my In-n-Out burger now or after the commentary, cause I know I’m gonna want one!

    • Anonymous

I read that as “RobCum” and I thought, “Well, she’s not beatin’ around the bush on what In-n-Out special sauce actually is.”

  • JustGoWithIt

I got mine last night as a present, and it came with…..a t-shirt. I now have a Twilight Eclipse t-shirt. Apparently the person at the store insisted the t-shirt came with, and wouldn’t let people leave without it. So based on that, I am guessing that every other customer coming in for the DVD tried to decline the free T-shirt.
I think I will muster up all the Twilight loving friends I have, which unless I’m forgetting someone is one, and drink wine and watch special features. I feel conflicted about watch with a friend/vs only watching when the husband is gone and the kids are in bed. Not because I watch it with my sex mask on or anything (okay fine I don’t have a sex mask), but it might be more of a (not so) secret guilty pleasure than throw a party and enjoy guilty pleasure for me.

    • Anonymous

I’m totally confused– you were worried about getting a free tshirt, but not about wearing your sex mask in front of your Twi friends?

Is ‘sex mask’ code for something? Like ‘old school’?

  • Anonymous

No biggie! I may change back. The only benefit to using the disqus login is being able to edit your comment after posting it, and meh. Lived without that feature for this long…

Did have a great thanksgiving, thanks! Turkey was a bit of a failure, but oh well. Was sorry to hear yours didn’t work out, but glad you’re doing okay.
