It’s the small things – scenes in Twilight

(our lil UC is sicko so bear with me while I double post in her absence)

Dear Twilight movie franchise (yes, all of you),

The other night at the Iron & Wine concert I had a moment. I won’t even say I was a fan long before the song was in Twi but WHATEVER, I HAD A MOMENT. Sam Beam sang “Flightless Bird” mostly a capella as his encore and I’d be lying if I wasn’t mentally whisked away to that gazebo at the prom with Bella and Edward dancing under the twinkling lights. Of all the song and scene pairing I think that is by far the one I link together the most and really just one of my favorite scenes. And (of course) that got me to thinking what about my other favorite scenes. What will I smile and think about long after all the movies have been released and we’ve been put out to the blogging pasture?

I kinda think it’s gonna be more about the little moments to me… Bella’s feet on Edward’s feet in the prom scene or maybe…

After being confronted by a curious Bella about his eye color and wondering whether he got contacts, Edward awkardly mumbles and turns around to leave down the hallway. Way to totally draw attention to it dude! But then we wouldn’t have the arms holding the jacket or the BACK in that tshirt. Yes, this is a great moment.

Not in the book but definitely one of my faves little moments in Eclipse features Edward bro-ing up with Jacob after the kiss and Papa Swan having to step in.

From UC’s sick bed she tells me that this is one of her faves…

Jacob and Bella’s “it’s not a lifestyle choice” walk on First Beach at La Push. Jacob (Taylor) looks about 20 years older thus making us not feel so bad for crushing him as much as we do.

There are about a billion little moments in the Twilight movies that make me smile, make me laugh and make me sigh. Can’t it just be November already and the wait will be over so we can begin finding our new favorite little moments in Breaking Dawn? Ugh, the unfairness of it all.

Ohhh and before we go I have one more favorite little moment…… follow the cut

HAHA just kidding!!!

TGIF!
Moon

What’s your favorite little moment in one (or all) of the Twilight films? Oh and give UC your well wishes!

Enjoy!

Oh, this is hard…but I think my first and biggest favourite moment would be Bella in Edward’s room for the first time, when she says she is not afraid of him. That smirk, his “hmm..you really shouldn’t have said that” is just..delicious.
If we’re talking funny favourites, they all include Billy Burke: cocking his gun to greet Edward, having the sex talk with Bella – he is EPIC!!

    • Ish

I agree, aside from the horrid little sniffy thingy that he does just before he takes her arm. Anyone else notice it or is it another case of me being the only one to notice Jacobs hamster cheeks as he is about to kiss Bella in NM?

      • Ylreveba

dude!!! I totally notice that too!! Lol
really I thought it was weird!! Why he did that for! and he’s always pouting.. Im not complaining, I still love him, but it IS weird!

      • cosi bella

Yes the bloated cheeks! I’m so glad others have noticed this. He almost looked like a different person in that scene!

Had me wondering cos face bloating is a side effect of anabolic steroid usage or even worse maybe extreme skin irriatation after making out with someone with harsh stubble or a full beard….(yikes)

Oh enough wild speculation it’s probably just some innocent reason like too many meat patties or too much salt in the on set food….(salt can cause bloating)

    • SueG.

I agree with MariaCecilia…that was my favorite Twilight moment…that smile is just delicious!

    • natteringyeahrobber

The Edward room scene…”So..no bed?” One question – maybe someone here knows – Edward has all that crap plastered on his windows. What is it all? Photos of Bella? That always bugs me, seems too out of character. The only people I’ve seen over the age of 16 who tape stuff to their windows are hoarders who accumulate so much stuff that they cannot even open their front door.

      • Ish

another excuse to watch Twi again so that I can look for clutter in edwards bedroom thanks for that xx

        • natteringyeahrobber

The rest of his room is super clean, though. It’s just the window – what is all that stuff on the window (not all the windows – the two windows next to his flat screen – you can see better when they start dancing). I’ve tried zooming in on it, but can never get a clear picture of what all that is. I always imagine it to be stalker photos of Bella though.

          • natteringyeahrobber

Also, I love the owl hooting in the Edward’s room scene. Perfect timing. I don’t know if the owl sound is natural or if they had to dub that in, but it really adds to the mood. That owl should get a best supporting hoot award.

          • Team Seth

            Hooter award!!!

      • Anonymous

How did you picture his room when you read the book? I was picturing something more dark, masculine and sexy.

        • http://www.talksupe.wordpress.com snowwhitedrifted

Do you watch Vampire Diaries? Damon’s room was on last night. It’s just as you described.

          • Anonymous

No. I know, I need to.

          • Team Seth

Except I thought there might be silk sheets.

        • Team Seth

This is hard to say too, because in the book the house is a plantation home with normal windows and they have that wrestle fest and then Alice walks in on them (A-w-k-w-a-r-d)

          • Anonymous

The sense I get of the design of the Cullen’s house always seems a little bipolar to me. Is it a Victorian on the front, but with a complete glass wall on the back? Who would do that to a house? I work in the design field, and have been tempted to try to draw the floor plan as described, and find decent images of all the wood panelling, white carpets, gold bedding, just to assure myself that it could work and those things can be done tastefully.
I actually like the completely modern house in the movies, and thought it was kind of genius to put hundreds-of year-old vampires in that kind of setting.

          • Anonymous

Right. But I just thought Esme, restored the home, gave it a modern interior while keeping the original facade. I like the openness described and that fact that the colors were pulled from the Isle Esme home. I have a harder time picturing the Isle Esme home, but probably because there were more important things that I focus on, like the broken headboard (heehee)

          • Team Seth

Oh! I have a perfect picture of that house, down to the cutaway window formed by the bar in the kitchen that Edward looks through to Bella when she’s on the couch wanting eggs. I can even see the porch terrace with the palms. I could totally live in that place. Perfect little home on the islands… I even can picture the bathroom with that slightly tan/red tile. Wow. I’m getting all excited… i want to draw up the floor plan!

          • Team Seth

Like breakfast bar, not like drinking bar. Does that make sense?

          • natteringyeahrobber

Breakfast bars don’t make sense to me in general. I mean, sure, if you have someone else to make you flapjacks, applewood smoked bacon and strong coffee after a night of running around on La Push and drinking jello shots by the bonfire, breakfast bars seem romantic. But realistically…drinking bars make better sense. Only minus the sink. I don’t like wet bar sinks, all you need are bottles, ice, and glasses.

          • TeamSeth

hehehe I think the word I was looking for was “counter” not “bar”. Close enough!

    • Memi1434

Dont you think that the part when she says Im not afraid of you should have been played out like the book, when he leaps at her and throws her on the bed…. :D you brought back great memories! lol

  • Anonymous

Thank you for including Backward in your highlights, a total favourite, but often forgotten in favour of the more popular promward and cafeteriawards !

    • MariaCecilia

I remember Rob saying in a comment that he was self-consciously trying to make his back seem broader while walking away – maybe that’s why he’s holding his arms out at such a weird angle? Dear boy, we all love your back in that t-shirt, regardless!!

  • drsaka

Hahahaha, very funny Moon- the running through the woods future vision- how can that not be a favorite moment?
Comedy, either intentional or unintentional, is always welcome.

  • Anonymous

Van crash. I have to stop whatever I am doing and watch it everytime it comes on (Twilight is my “folding a crapload of clothes need to watch a movie so I get this done” movie). Something about the way he looks at her killls me everytime……..

    • MariaCecilia

Yes, that’s def another favourite: that stricken look on his face, and those HUGE beautiful eyes – *sigh*

    • MariaCecilia

Yes, that’s def another favourite: that stricken look on his face, and those HUGE beautiful eyes – *sigh*

    • Team Seth

OH! This just reminded me of another one of my favorites! I love when Bella walks past Edward in the school lot towards the woods and the camera pans to him with his “Oh shiiit” look. I just super <3 the music there "waaaar naaaar" and then I know they're about to go to Oxbow Park and I get giddy 'cuz I've been there and it's just… god, I'm a nerd. Argh. why don't I have my Twi score CD at work!!!! And youtube won't work :'(

  • superhumanmoron

Dripping wet Edward in the rain talking to Bella in Twi. YUM. Feel better soon, UC!!!

    • JodieO

When the water is dripping off his nose? Yeah. That’s a good one.

      • superhumanmoron

        I’d lick it off. Yep.

    • Team Seth

I guess we know how you likin’ the rain, girl!

      • Anonymous

        Hahaha! Yup!

  • Sisterpenguin

New Moon: motorbike crash, Jacob takes his shirt off, first sight of those abs – grrrroowwlll! (Must recite: he’s of legal age, I’m not a perv) Eclipse: Charlie’s sex talk – “virgin huh. Likin’ Edward a little bit more now”

  • TheColdWoman

GAH! Now I want to watch Twilight asap! And since my favorite moments have already been mentioned, I’ll just say Feel Better UC!

  • Twistar

My fav scene is Edward walking across school parking lot in the beginning of New Moon *shivers*. To me that is Edward at his hottest.

    Get well!

    • MariaCecilia

Notice how, halfway through that walk, Rob looks to the side and smiles, self-consciously? I bet that’s when Kristin yelled “Yeah, strut your stuff!” to him from across the lot…

  • toooldforthis

My moment is one that is not supposed to be funny. It’s actually supposed to be very serious and sad, but I giggle inappropriately every time I see it. It’s the NM break-up scene where Edward and Bella have this little exchange:

    Bella: “Edward, I’m coming.”
Edward: “Bella, I don’t want you to come.”

I realize that makes me sound like I have the maturity of a 12 year old, but, well…….yeah.

And we also can’t forget the after party birthday kiss. The one where, if you close your eyes, it sounds like there’s a little something more than kissing going on (ifyouknowwhatimeanandithinkyoudo).

    • natteringyeahrobber

When I watch Twilight, I do feel like I’m 12, which is part of the everlasting appeal. It delivers that awkward-goofy feeling in a way no other movie can (16 Candles comes close, though).

      • Ish

what about american graffiti? that film gave me almost the same strange longing (no m not being crude was unexplainable feeling to a prepubescent 12 year old – still is unexplainable really :-%) something odd about really liking the kiss between the girl kid and the james dean type hottie driving around. tis a long time since I saw that film. anyway…..

      • Stacey

I loved Sixteen Candles! I also loved Pretty in Pink like that. Ohh Jon Cryer’s Duckie! It’s weird. I saw him on Conan and he’s old now. He was old when I originally saw the movie too.

I wonder if the 13 year olds watching Twilight now, when they are in their 30′s, will see interviews of Rob and then say I remember when he was young. But still older then they were. It’s like the circle of life of young adult movies.

        • Anonymous

I thought of Duckie last night. The dancer silhouette on Just Dance II was dressed like him.

        • http://www.talksupe.wordpress.com snowwhitedrifted

It’s true, Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink, Revenge of the Nerds: Timeless. Seriously, don’t we all still quote Long Duck Dong, “Oh Sexxxxy Girlfriend”, 25 years after we’ve seen this film.

And that song in Sixteen Candles when Jake Ryan ulls up to the church STILL gives me the goosebumps. Just like the Iron and Wine will probably always do.

          • Stacey

All I can say is WWMRD (What Would Molly Ringwald Do). I don’t think it would work quite the same if it’s WWKSD. I bet you can guess the KS. Hmm…

          • Anonymous

Agreed, about the song. Love it!

    • Anonymous

I cannot control my laughter in the post birthday kiss scene, youre not alone!

  • GeminiGypsy

I wish they had had the kiss when Bella brings her truck to drive them to the meadow the first time- that was really funny and cute in the book. I really like the Seth moments in Eclipse, they were really funny! My favorite Edward and Bella moment, is of course the leg-hitch :P THey just got that moment right in the movies, and the music fit it very well.

  • Brenn

New Moon: After the birthday party, when Edward and Bella first say ‘I love you.’ Edward is just dreamy and perfect in that shot.

  • natteringyeahrobber

I love the scene in Twilight where Edward is driving off and Billy Black is coming in and they have the driver stare-down. My Dad does the Billy Black road rage stare really well, I grew up with it, so it really reminds me of my Dad. Edward cannot compete with it. He tries to stare back in his most serious way, but inside you can tell he’s crumbling/quivering.

    • Team Seth

I LOVE that! It’s like they’re both practicing to show up KStew.

    • Anonymous

First, it’s odd because Billy Black supposedly can’t drive, and Jacob has to drive him around even though he’s underage (I know, you can get hand-control cars for the disabled, but I’m sure that’s really expensive and the downtrodden Rez dwellers probably couldn’t afford that.)
Second, have you ever seen that mashup of Billy Black’s staredown and Rob from Little Ashes? So funny. Imma go look for it now.

      • natteringyeahrobber

nope – haven’t seen that mashup, but sounds pretty promising.

        • Anonymous

          !!

          • natteringyeahrobber

Loved that. I might have to add Billy Black to my Cobb salad too now.

“I just want to try one thing.”

  • Brenn

Eclipse: ‘Believe me, I want to.”

  • Cristine

My favorite scene in Twi is when Edward stays in Bella’s room for the first time (with her knowing he’s there) and she’s suppose to be asleep and snuggles against his chest, and Rob makes this face expression, like he’s torn between all the things we read about in the book (his guilt over how wrong this is battling his love for her and his desire to be close to her but not knowing how, then Rob takes a deep breath which I like to pretend he’s forcing himself to inhale her scent and resist – all of these things took place in the meadow scene which was missing in the movie) but I see it all demonstrated in that one tiny moment.

ooh, good choices Moon. (and feel better soon, UC).

The prom scene dance in Twi was my favourite moment in that movie. I felt like Bella and Edward really relaxed and came alive as a couple in that scene.

New Moon was filled with great moments. For some reason I really liked the scene with Bella and Carlisle (aside from his funny accent at the beginning); I though it was sweet. I am a sucker for the spinning-around-well-manicured-Bella as the months go by (because I really liked that succession of blank pages w/just the names of the month in the book). I loved Jacob every moment he was in New Moon (not quite as crazy for him in Eclipse). Especially the movie theatre scenes. Tweed serious Edward in Rio was extremely well done – the first time you see that in the movie you can feel your heart racing, seeing Edward again. And the tension between Edward and Jacob at the very end.

Eclipse, I also liked the scene when Edward and Jacob were about to rip each other’s heads off. The engagement scene is another favourite, minus the ring.

    • Anonymous

Whenever I think of that scene, it is overpowered by the godawfulness of that ring, and I’m sad it was ruined.

      • Anonymous

It was a good scene otherwise.

  • Notanaddikt Bella

I like that moment in Twilight at the restaurant when he’s telling her he can read everybody’s mind except hers and the guy in the corner wearing the tinfoil hat. Oh wait… that was rifftrax.

    Get well UC!

    • http://www.talksupe.wordpress.com snowwhitedrifted

My favorite Rifftrax was when they keep saying “Ladies” even when it’s Jake and the dudes on the beach.

    • Team Seth

It was funny, I was just having a similar conversation with my sister about the movies a couple days ago. She basically said, I know you like the Twilight movies…BUT Eclipse was horrible. I asked her feelings about the other ones and she had the same feelings about them. I started to disagree, but then I thought occured to me. If you think about the movies too hard (like any movie really) you’ll be bound to find issues. The question is are you willing to enjoy them anyway. That’s when they become fantastic guilty pleasures.

When you look the movies in parts it takes on a whole new life. Some parts like anything with Eric Yorkie becomes hysterical to me. (Maybe it’s the hair?) Then other parts I find completely romantic. Of course, there are the scenes in Twilight like the first kiss and the last dance, but one of my favorites is when after Edward scare her with his vampireness after revealing himself and pushes her up against the rock and gazes at her. I just…ugh…love it. Maybe, that’s why Twilight is my favorite of the movies, Pattinson has more of an intensity in that one and less makeup.

Wow…I wrote a book here! UC feel better soon!

    • Sisterpenguin

Really agree with you. I’m a bit of a film buff and if I actually think about the films too much they’re rubbish (cringing from the hail of stones being thrown) but because they are still basically the Twilight story I lurv them and have watched them way too many times for an over 40yr old…

    • Anonymous

I hear you. It’s like anything else (especially as far as books and movies go), bottom line you have to enjoy them for what they are. Sometimes things are for pure enjoyment. Whatever you enjoy in Twilight, NM or Eclipse movies (or books) … that’s their purpose. Whether you love when Yorkie is on screen, adore staring at Jacob getting all upset and calling Mike a marshmallow, or swoon over Edward’s TweedSerious coat (does anyone do that?!) that is why the movies are “good.”

If you don’t enjoy any of that (how could you not, really? I mean…you must be a boring person if you don’t) that’s ok too. To each his/her own.

As a side note I really take issue with the term “guilty pleasure.” Why should we feel guilty for enjoying something that is really not harmful or wrong in any way… :P

      /end Tweed Serious philosophizing

      • Team Seth

I used to enjoy E’s coat for entertainment purposes (omg. I just wrote “purples” instead of “purposes”). Then yesterday the whacko IT guy (not the cool one that I mention sometimes) wore a full length tweed coat. Ruined.

          • Team Seth

Like, why are there that many zombie movies anyway? ‘Cause if it’s supposed to, like, draw a parallel about leprosy, my cousin had leprosy, ok it is not funny. And, like, is it supposed to be a metaphor for consumerism? Because don’t be so pleased with your own self-referential cleverness. Some girls like to shop. Not all girls, apparently. Although I was surprised you even called at all. Like, your depression thing, I get it. I’m totally, totally worried. But after a while, it’s like, you’re still bumming and I’m going through stuff too. And Mike said he just want to be friends. It’s hard.

New Moon –when ARo: “What an interesting immortal you will make, I-Sa Bellllle”

Edward´s first smirk at the cafeteria is that everlasting moment.

The second best is the dialogue with sick Bella in the hospital bed, at the end he says “Where else would I go”?

  • Nelle

That does it. I’m home sick today but have to go watch “Twilight” with commentary.

    • Team Seth

If you need a double feature, try it in Espanol with Eduard! He professes his love in that version of the script! :)

      • gizmo

The fact that you’ve seen it in Espanol demands another “that’s normal”.

  • Anonymous

Not that I want to get off topic here, but I am finding it interesting this morning looking through the comments to see that most of our favourite or best “small moments” of the movies are from either Twilight or New Moon.

When I first saw Eclipse last year I thought it was the best movie of the three. In retrospect, even though it lacked the cringe-worthy moments that tainted Twi+NM, I also think it lacked the elements that really resonate with us. Twilight and New Moon seemed to be more effective at delivering those “little things” that give the series their pulse.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/CoraleComics?feature=mhum#p/f/5/rPmW58Bv7kg LegHitchThis

I completely agree. I adored Eclipse but it doesn’t have that element that makes me want to watch it over and over. It’s missing something idk what. It probably needed more little moments like Twi & NM.

    • Stacey

The cringe moments are what makes them special. And magical…but not in a bear skin rug way.

      • Anonymous

In all seriousness it’s not the cringe moments that made the movies for me. I mean, it’s all good fun when we laugh over BCS or the Anne of Green Gables rompers for years on LTT (that’s normal).

But that aside, there’s something I genuinely liked about Twi and NM, that I guess had something to do with their sweetness and innocence. Eclipse on the other hand was like, “Okay, here’s I am, this is Eclipse; it’s a big, sweeping, Hollywood showstopper” it was almost too polished and fabricated.

Somehow having Twi and NM be a little rough around the edges – not entirely different than the books were – are what make it work, be so distinct, and so authentic and sweet.

In French there’s a good word for this sort of thing; “rustique” or “campagnard” which literally translates to rustic and country-style but in the context of music or art it more generally means stylistically a bit loose; authentic or genuine or down to earth.

        • Stacey

I agree with that. They are enjoyable for many reasons, but they are rough around the edges. Eclipse felt that was a bit too.

The Twilight movies, and I’m including Eclipse, also have a stigma attached to them. They are seen as less than other films. (Actually the books too in a way) It is if you are not allowed to enjoy them. I think, ultimately, those that watch the movies or read the books over and over again do it for the enjoyment they bring. There’s nothing wrong with that.

    • Nettie

Yes, yes, yes. My initial reaction was that it was the best (and it’s still my husband’s favorite by far). But now, I don’t think so. I’m back to swooning over Twilight and NM, and am a little sad that Eclipse doesn’t have any swoony moments for me. Not even the engagement scene. It was all too…typical hollywood movie? Or something. It’s missing the intimate feel that it was made JUST for Twilight fans to swoon & obsess over. I hope BD will be back to that.

      • natteringyeahrobber

Agree about swoony moments lacking in Eclipse. The engagement (or as Hank from Larry Sanders would say – “awn-gawhg-mahnt”)scene was like a DeBeers commercial to me. OK – so go back to Edward’s room in Twilight, with Debussy playing. Remember how quiet it was, you could hear them breathing, with just a bit of piano solo Claire de Lune in the background. So sweet. I almost felt like I was in the room with them. Then go to Eclipse, when “must devirginize NOW sexpath” Bella comes over to Edward’s – Claire de Lune is playing, but it is a different rendition, and later on in the song, all sweepy and diamond-commercial like. Not quite as intimate.

In Eclipse when Edward is proposing to Bella, he takes a gulp and says, I would have taken chaperoned strolls and then he says something about ice tea and goes.. hm.
Warmed my heart and made me laugh at the same time.
Anyone remember that little sound he made? ^_^

        Aww! -hugs-

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/CoraleComics?feature=mhum#p/f/5/rPmW58Bv7kg LegHitchThis

    “Happy Birthday”
    “Don’t remind me”
“Bella, your birth is definitely something to be celebrated”
    “Well my aging is not”
“Your aging? I think 18 is a little to young to be worrying about that”
“It’s one year older than you..”
    “No it isn’t, I’m 109″
“Well maybe I shouldn’t be dating such an old man..It’s gross. I should be thoroughly repulsed” <- lolz

Then they make out a bit an sad music starts randomly playing in the background. :)

    • Anonymous

I like that they threw in a cougar joke too, about Bella and Jacob. Is it odd that I thought about our dearly beloved Cathy?

      • Team Seth

NO! I thought it was a shout out to her!

      • http://www.youtube.com/user/CoraleComics?feature=mhum#p/f/5/rPmW58Bv7kg LegHitchThis

        Lol! not odd at all!

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/CoraleComics?feature=mhum#p/f/5/rPmW58Bv7kg LegHitchThis

In Eclipse when Jacob is on the mountain top and he says, “I’m done. I’m so done!” XD hahaha I love that line.

    • Anonymous

Ah, Jacob, always the drama queen king.

  • Anonymous

Agreed. But then there is always the scene when Bella first sets eyes on Edward.

  • JennB33

Feel better UC! No death bed, please!

It’s the cafeteria scene. I’m sorry. I know he kind of looks like a clown – bad make-up, CathiHardi – but I still get tingles in my bits when he comes in. (ha! That’s what she said!)

I really thought it was going to be a clip of that damn spider monkey scene. I literally close my eyes at that part.

And i do love the Edward/Jacob chest-off when Charlie has to break it up. I adore Madward.

    • Team Seth

Don’t, don’t hate on the spider monkey line.

  • Stacey

Wait…Eclipse has Riley…Riley walking out of the bar. To the Black Keys…love it.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/CoraleComics?feature=mhum#p/f/5/rPmW58Bv7kg LegHitchThis

that scene was hot as hale.

  • Anonymous

This is a tiny moment… but I like the scene in the cafeteria when Edward throws the french fry. After reading that horrible Midnight Sun, I understood why I liked the Twilight film. Rob is playing Midnight Sun.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/CoraleComics?feature=mhum#p/f/5/rPmW58Bv7kg LegHitchThis

that’s true. he definitely based his performance off of that because they gave him MS to look at.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/CoraleComics?feature=mhum#p/f/5/rPmW58Bv7kg LegHitchThis

In Eclipse when Jake is in the garage with Bella arguing over her being a vampire.. and he throws something then says,”for a second, for a second I thought… but he has his hooks in you so deep… ”
Then Bella says “I decided this, not him”
Then jake goes, “Bella.. they’re not even alive! It makes me sick. Better you be dead than one of them”

Sheesh Jake. Way to throw a 3rd degree burn.

    • Team Seth

I really wish she’d said “I can’t believe you said that.” and then continued to walk out of the garage. Instead she brings up Edward, which just solidifies Jake’s point. Sigh. Even SM agrees with me on that one.

      • http://www.youtube.com/user/CoraleComics?feature=mhum#p/f/5/rPmW58Bv7kg LegHitchThis

Right right. She says, “I can’t believe you said that.” Then says something about Edward being right and she shouldn’t have come.. But stays. Lol
If it were me, I would’ve been out!

        • Team Seth

Yeah! “I can’t believe you said that.” PEACE, WOLF!

          • Team Seth

“Leg Hitch This, Wolf Boy. PSYCHE! Denied like the river in Egypt!”

            lolol

    • cosi bella

…but the way taylor always says the word ‘second’ as ‘secont’ for a seconT just a split seconT.

      Sooooo distracting!!!

      • http://www.youtube.com/user/CoraleComics?feature=mhum#p/f/5/rPmW58Bv7kg LegHitchThis

Lol oh I never noticed! I’ll have to check for that next time.

  • natalie_MKH

Umm I am going to have to go with the very first time we see Rob as Edward in Twilight. This was when I was only slightly annoyed with Bella for being unable to speak a whole sentance without mumbling or Edward for eventually picking up said bad habbit.

New Moon is the Lykke Li Song / time passing thing. Sadly, that’s it.

And I haven’t watched Eclipse enough to have a favorite scene. The first time watching it @ home I honestly thought I must have seen the wrong movie in the theatre because I didn’t remember most of that shiz.

Honestly though, I love the unintentional comedy of Twilight. Emmett in the background with the butcher knife, “Her name’s Bella”, Rob mispronouncing words like ‘nothing’, and of course Bella sounding like she’s having an orgasm everytime she talks to Edward. *sighs* The good ol’ days.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/CoraleComics?feature=mhum#p/f/5/rPmW58Bv7kg LegHitchThis

LMAO! “The first time watching it @ home I honestly thought I must have seen the wrong movie in the theatre because I didn’t remember most of that shiz.”

      Yea it happens ^^

      • natalie_MKH

This might have happened because we sat through showings of Twilight and New Moon before getting to Eclipse *Dances around waving fan card*. I was on Twilight overdose at that point.

        • http://www.youtube.com/user/CoraleComics?feature=mhum#p/f/5/rPmW58Bv7kg LegHitchThis

Omg! That happened to me. -also shows fan card-
Watched the 1st two at a friends house and then went to go see the movie. We agreed to never do that again. Lol

          • natalie_MKH

Sadly, we will probably do this again for BD. Don’t know if they’ll show all three before first though.

          • http://www.youtube.com/user/CoraleComics?feature=mhum#p/f/5/rPmW58Bv7kg LegHitchThis

probably. Im going to be so over whelmed. maybe i should watch one movie a day. ^^

  • ladyofthemeadow

Edward – had me in the cafeteria (okay, I wish that were true).

Emmett – standing up in the back of the jeep driving into the school parking lot, then jumping down to the ground

Billy – just about every scene, but I love when he cocks his gun and says something like “Bring him in”.

    • JustGoWithIt

Plus Edward looks super good in that dark blue jacket.

      • ladyofthemeadow

Oooh yeah. I kind of like the pale skin/dark eyes/pink lips combo, goes well with the dark blue jacket.

    • Team Seth

Edward – had me in the cafeteria (okay, I wish that were true)

      teehee!

  • Nettie

PROM SCENE. Hands down. It was magical and it’s what turned me from ridiculing the movie (as I had been for the entire first hour & 1/2 so far), to falling in love with Edward & Bella. After that scene, I was breathless, and was already reaching for my laptop so I could immediately go to Amazon and order a used copy of Twilight (used, so I wouldn’t feel stupid when it turned out to suck, as I was SO SURE it would. Haha. Joke on me).

  • http://www.talksupe.wordpress.com snowwhitedrifted

    Fav’s:
•Edward walking through the school parking lot with his Ray Bans on talking about going to hell.

•The music/ sound effeects when Laurent, Victoria, and James are walking up to the baseball field.

•Bella’s cute shirt in the Edible art cafeteria scene.

•and all of Jasper in Eclipse.

OK, conversely, here are moments I thouroughly cringe at:

•When the Cullens and the Laurent pack crouch down and hiss at each other.

    • Esme’s baseball cap, Alice’s too.

    and
    • Renee’s thong shot in FL

    • natalie_MKH

Ha ha! Edward and Ray Bans are an EPIC win. I literally have to walk out of the room when those idiots start hissing at each other. And the thong. How cruel is the editing department?

    • Stacey

Now the thong song is in my head. Oh great.

    • superhumanmoron

Ah….the “Spotlight” scene!!! Edward in his Ray Bans makes me giddy.

  • Anonymous

Ok, I’ve only seen the movies a few times because my family already thinks I’m obsessed with Twilight. They seriously don’t realize how normal I am and what real abnormal Twilight obsession is. My fav of the three movies is Twilight, even though at first I rented it I laughed by butt off. There was a scene that was cut of Bella and Edward walking through the woods and they fall to the ground and somehow Bella’s finger ends up in Edwards mouth and he bites down. It would have been sexy if you didn’t hear the crunching sound.

There are too many little scenes that I could watch over and over again. Most are already mentioned and make me want to go watch the movies again. I love the Edward smirks.

Feel better UC. I’m fighting a sinus infection myself. Stupid germs!

  • Anonymous

Mine was, “They’re NOT Bears.” and of course seeing the LegHitch with all the ladies in LA (moment in time and in the movie).

  • orangepeel

When it comes to perfect music/scene matches I have to nominate the baseball game. The way Jacksper juggles his bat to Muse beat, I can’t watch it w/o hitting replay. Whoever editted it all together from how ever many hours of film and song choices… brilliant.

(First post since recently pointed towards LTT/R by latersbaby, who totally understands my sense of humor. Who knew I could feel so NORMAL?!?)

    • Anonymous

Yippee! I’m so glad you’re here!

Do you get turned on or giggly when the jump up and crash their bodies together?

      • orangepeel

Both, of course. And love that moment when Rob smacks at Em as they roll on ground together. So natural, have to wonder what’s going on off screen.

        • Anonymous

You’re thinking slash again, aren’t you?

    • Team Seth

      Welcome!!! :)

    • Anonymous

Doh! I knew there had to be at least one scene in Twilight that I really liked. How could I forget about Jasper and his bat?!?!

    • http://www.talksupe.wordpress.com snowwhitedrifted

Anyone mentioning Jasper juggling his bat is fine by me! ;)

  • JustGoWithIt

New Moon since it isn’t getting much action:
I also love the Lykke Li heartbreak (as already posted by someone. I like when Bella is talking to Jacob on the movie stairs about how she’s never gonna run right. And when Bella sees Edward floating though the water when she is drowning and the song is so perfect. The music in general on New Moon was spot on for the mood. I liked when Bella sees that a Cullen car is parked outside her house and gets all excited.
I thought the end bedroom scene when Edward is announcing he is back could have been a swoon moment, but it kind of fell flat.
I saw New Moon in the theater before reading the book, so I loved when he asks her to marry him at the end.
I liked the NM commentary, when they say that they didn’t actually mean for Edward and Bella running through the forest both as vampires to be funny. Because everyone in the theater laughed. But not just at Edward’s run. Also at their outfits which look so out of character for both of them.

  • Team Seth

HEHEHE! You made me giggle snort with that “just kidding” scene! Yay for moon double/triple posts!

Hm… favorite scenes… There’s more than one for certain! I will go by the parts I get really excited for when watching the movies.

Ultimate #1 favorite: The entire Aro sequence, but most specially when he says the killer “Beller is alive and well after all! Isn’t that wonderful!” and then later when he says, “Isabella” because I always think Bella is going to jut up her chin and reply, “It’s Bella.”

    #2 Favorite:
First kiss on the bed. Yummy.

    #3 Favorite:
The break-up scene with Edward. I cry. Always. Every time. Even if I giggle during “I don’t want you to come” or think about the mosquito on his nose during the making-of doc, as soon as he kisses her on the forehead and squeezes shut his eyes, I cry.

    #4 Favorite:
Break up scene with Jacob. The emoting in the elements is just… swoon. “Go home and don’t come back–or you’re gonna get hurt.” And a personal fave “So that’s it. It’s not you it’s me. Really?” and “May if you just like gave me some time or something.”

    #5 Favorite:
Jacob and Bella at the theater. I just LOVE how gorgeous she looks in that outfit and how earnest Jacob is. And the line “I’m not like a car you can fix up. I’m never gonna run right.” And he doesn’t care, because he loves her. Never give up, never surrender. I <3 you pre-wolf Jacob!!! (except for your hair)

Favorite lines that have nothing to do with the scene:
-Riley saying, "What's done is done. Just clean up after yourselves."
-Jessica's soliloquy after the zombie movie.
-Edward saying, "You better hold on tight, spider monkey."
YES, I do LOVE that line and it always makes me smile. It's not a stupid or cringe-worthy line at all. It's cheeky and cute and he's trying to calm her down before the big scary moment for her. Maybe flying squirrel would've been a more accurate animal to reference, but still, it's Edward–book Edward–Real Edward. I just love that line. Always have and always will. And you can make fun all you want, but I've made my choice, and I'm gonna fight for it, until my heart stops beating. And maybe even then.

    • Team Seth

Oops. This was a bit epically long.

    • Anonymous

Thank you for including the scenes that I was going to mention when I finally got through the comments and around to writing my own: the Jacob break-up scene and the movie theater scene. I feel like Tay-Tay really shone in those two scenes. What can I say? I <3 him.

      • Team Seth

I know you do! I do too. Like… in a professional way… Anyway, I love NM because of Jake, book and movie. I can recall talking to my sister about NM after my first read and she didn’t know part of it because she’d not read the parts between Edward leaving and returning. Those were my favorite parts.

Also, I just had this thought: Wouldn’t it be weird to always have people watching you eat? I always worry that I make those gross eating sounds, but if everyone’s eating it’s less noticeable. I think I’d prefer to be with jake for that reason. Well, until I become a vampire I suppose.

        • Anonymous

Of course. Just until you become a vampire. :)

    • Anonymous

SOOOO love all of those. Because of today’s post and comments I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to watch New Moon again tonight. Swoon.

  • ellie377

Iron and Wine Saturday night at Radio City! Going with my husband, who despite knowing the Twilight connection, opted to come with.
    Was the LA concert good?

  • Anonymous

Hmm, favorite scenes…pretty much all of them are from NM, cuz it was my fav.

    - September, October, November scene in New Moon.
    - When Beller meets Quil and Embry for the first time. I just find that scene hilarious.
    - Confronting Jacob in the rain. I really, really loved this scene. It was emotional and sweet…and Taycob looked, well like he was freezing, but it was hot.
    - Meadow scene with Beller and Laurant. He was genuinely creepy at first sight. And I loved Bells face when she first sees that they’re NOT Bears!
    - Thom Yorke wolf-chase, obvi.
    - I know lots of people didn’t like it, but I really liked the near-drowning scene a lot. I love the song and the whole thing feels ethereal and dream-like.
    - Everything Volturi.

    - Totally loved when Edward and Jacob go at it and Charlie has to break it up. That is the only time Edward looks menacing, and he did a mighty fine job.
    - Jasper flashback!!!!
    - Riley.

    • Team Seth

So you guys have girlfriends, awesome!

      • Anonymous

It’s specifically when Quil introduces himself and tries to say it all sexy like. The way he says it and the look on his face is just so funny.

        • Team Seth

HAHA! “Hello, I’m Quil Atera.” and Bella’s all Don’t smirk, that’s rude. Don’t smirk. Aw crap.

    • sweetinator88

these are like ALL of my favorite parts, only i couldnt remember them until i read yours lol
      good job! haha

      • Anonymous

Thanks! It took me forever to think of the scenes that stood out to me the most. And then I went and forgot Jasper and his bat in Twilight!

        • sweetinator88

oh mann that is a good part too! lol

i actually also like that part, in NM, when the wolves are chasing Victoria in the woods and its like showing from above and its playing that song, Hearing Damage by Thom Yorke… dang, idk why, but i love it
and theres like the bird and stuff, i just think its really cool lol

  • Reeceev13

My all time fav is in New Moon during the voting scene when Bells balls finally drop and she finally tells Mr Control Freakward “OH SHUT UP!”

I also love the whole Charlie cleaning the gun when he meets Ed. That’s personal though cause my dad did the exact same thing. Memories.

I’m curious how did meeting the parents go for everyone else …

  • Reeceev13

Speaking of Bella seeing Eddy’s room the first time .. The opening of Eclipse we went to the triple play where I saw Twilight on the big screen for the first time. Did anyone notice the props guys looked like they were having some fun. There was a box of Kleenex and what appears to be a fashion mag like Vogue laying on his sofa. I was rolling laughing. No one has ever mentioned it ….

    • natteringyeahrobber

OK, I’m definitely watching Twilight again tonight. Plus there are more articles/photos/detritus taped to the walls outside Edward’s room (in the hallway). I really don’t think Edward is the type to get happy with the Scotch tape. I’m sure they are all inside jokes with prop staff.
