Kristen’s Theme Song: The Climb

Dear LTT-ers,

It’s (one of) your favorite bloggers here, Moon, stepping in for UC this Friday. She won’t be with us today because LIFE HAPPENS. And when life happens we just go with the flow because life is always more important than counting the hairs on Robs head or speculating about Solomon Trimble’s part time job (Waxer and Facialist). Where ever you are today send some love and prayers and good vibes to UC and her friend.

With that in mind let’s listen to Kristen talk about her theme song: The Climb by Miley Cyrus…

http://www.mtv.com/videos/movies/527436/kristen-stewarts-musical-tastes.jhtml#id=1641432

YUP, THE CLIMB. By the Miley Cyrus of Billy Ray Cyrus lineage. God, I would not pay money to hear her karaoke this but man would I enjoy seeing it happen!

Let’s sing it together…

Well it’s Friday so get out there and have some fun and be thinking of our lil UC and her Friend and it’ll all be preeeeetttttyyy cooool!

TGIF
Themoonisdown

As cheesy as Miley and this song is the lyrics ring true, it’s not ever going to be easy but it’s about the journey or the cllliiiiiiimb if you will. Had one of these experiences lately? What your theme song?

Our internet game is ridiculous: LTR, The Forum, Twitter, The Store

(((hugs))) to you dear UC! Thoughts and prayers to your friend.

Also to all those in Japan affected by the earthquake and tsunami… And all those that will get hit by the tsunami.
    <3

    • Nelle

      I second all that.

    • Tracitalynne

(((superhugs)))) for sure. Today is pissing down rain, and I haven’t heard from my brother in law in Japan and I just read the VF RPattz article (yes, just now. Life Happens) and now I has a sad for a complete stranger! Dude, you can come drink at my house, and I won’t scream at all I promise. Poor monkey. Also, and I know I am WAY LATE to this conversation, and honestly with scary scary waves all over WhoCares, but I must distract myself so:

What are these girls thinking? Is this the scenario for them: Rob looks over, sees some girl with the Crazy in her eye, spittle flying from her lips as she mashes her body (with 3 wolf moon shirt on) against the window, and he thinks: THERE SHE IS! THE GIRL FOR MEEEEE!

Sigh. Perhaps that level of delusion is comforting. Snuggles and whiskey drinks for everyone today. <3

      • Anonymous

        @Tracitalynne – Well I haven’t read it yet.

Prayers for UC and friend and those effected by this natural disaster. I don’t miss living in Hawaii today. Hope you hear from your b-n-law soon.

        • Tracitalynne

Okay good. That means I can still keep my fan card.

Just heard, Brother in law was on a trip to Bangkok, safe and sound! Whew. Now I have to keep the CA coast safe with just the power of my worry!

      • nocoolname

        Agreed on all points.

  • JustGoWithIt

When I was younger I wished that Yello’s Oh Yeah would play every time I walked in a room, or was doing something stupid.

  • nocoolname

Sending a Saran-wrapped plate of virtual Rice Krisbian treats (or a bowl of lentil soup, which is what I’m REALLY cooking today) for UC and her friend. xoxo

    • JustGoWithIt

I ate lentil stew soup for breakfast today, because I made a huge amount and didn’t think to freeze a portion, so now I need to eat it before it goes bad. I’ll be having it for dinner as well. And breakfast tomorrow.

Ah, to be 20. Can’t rag on her for bad taste… theme songs tend to choose you, I find. Like after my daughter was born and my brain took me back to middle school and Amy Grant’s Baby Baby. Said kiddo was totally grooving in her high chair to The Climb this morning, by the way.

    • Tracitalynne

Ha ha! My post-kid song was either Copacabana or Snoop’s Drop it Like It’s Hot. No wonder she’s so weird now….

    • TeamSeth

      Wait, is KStew only 20?

      • Anonymous

        Yup.

  • natalie_MKH

Sending UC and her friend lots of positive thoughts!! I don’t know about theme song but in just about any mood I can put in Beautiful by Eminem.

  • http://robstruck.blogspot.com Elle

I dunno.. I’m not crazy about The Climb.. Basically she’s saying that she likes to work her ass off and even if there are rewards to reap she doesn’t give a rip, because it’s all about the climb..

    Who does that?

    • cosi bella

**cynical alert** Yeah – who does that? People who’ve already made their fortunes that’s who.

    • Anonymous

The thing is, she had like 30 sec. to think of a theme song…on TV!!! It’s a good theme song, cheesy but a good theme song. The other thing is that although her life may seem to have been pretty easy so far we really have no idea if it was.

(yes, this really is RFM. to prove it: It’s not that tuff of life if your shagging thePretty!!)

      • TeamSeth

I have a question though, ‘cuz I only watched the interview once and something about KStew’s voice puts me into a “Zone” and I have too much cleaning today to get into said “zone” (it’s some kind of emo/needy thing that’s completely not real….like, oh god, does anyone else get this: After I watch Twilight, more so than the other films, I ALWAYS find myself doing the KStew/Bella breathe and running my hands through my hair a lot more. I hate that! I’m a always an aper, esp. accent-wise, but when I ape KStew it’s just like… Sigh.) Anyway, back to topic…

Is the theme song for KStew’s or Bella’s (in Eclipse)? Because the interview asks about what she listens to during filming to try and keep in character etc. And KStew’s all “Oh, nothing. I just do three minutes of breath of fire.” (hehe)

        • Anonymous

Alright, this is how much I love you. I watched the interview again (ugh) and I believe that The Climb is Kristen’s theme song. She does talk about Bella music, but that was more for NM than E. The question is off-camera what are you listening to? She then says The Climb is my theme song and I’m sticking to it.” So I’m going with K not B. And I guess this is not the first time she thought about her theme song, so I was wrong there.

And I so get what you mean about the accent thing. Luckily haven’t had the Bella affect yet, except maybe a little more lip biting.

          • Anonymous

Ugh! I never realized I bit my lip until Hubs mentioned it, and now I am sort of embarrassed for myself. Did I do it before? Am I just a crazy nerd?

  • Anonymous

I don’t really know what theme song I would have, but the one time I did karaoke with my sister I sang “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana. (And then I was forced into singing Stevie Wonder…) So I suppose that would be my go-to song.

    • Anonymous

On second thought, my friend said that if she had a choice of what my ringtone would be on her phone, she said that she would have “Show Me Your Genitals” by Jon Lajoie. Great.

      • JustGoWithIt

        I’d never seen that, thanks.

    • natteringyeahrobber

I can’t hear Teen Spirit any more without inserting the Weird Al Yankovic lyrics in my head instead “we’re so loud and incoherent…
boy this oughta bug your parents.”. Same is true for Avril Lavigne – So Complicated is now forever So Constipated.

      • Anonymous

I always do sing “Just eat it” instead of Beat it!!

      • cosi bella

Ike and Tina Turner I always say as “I can turn a corner”.

I can never hear “killing me softly with his song” without hearing my brother’s version “Filling me softly with his dong”

  • Sagalvr

Yahoo just posted a news story that Kristen left British Columbia due to the tsunami and fear for her safety (from Summit or on her own I don’t know). Is ROB out of there?! Keep him safe too!

    • Tracitalynne

Yep, they are all safe <3 http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b230529_breaking_dawn_cast_jimmy_kimmel.html

even Jimmy Kimmel for some reason. :)

    • JustGoWithIt

Seems completely silly to me. I’m pretty sure they canceled the tsunami warning this morning for BC. Also BC is a big frickin’ place. No joke, there is a lot of space to get away from the coast. Unless they were shooting out at the beach I’m pretty sure everyone here is safe. Unless I’ve missed something.

      • Tracitalynne

I think I heard they were on one of the islands, at least KStew and Taylor? That girl is very, very tiny, I would keep her out of high winds, too. ;) Plus, I am sure that Summit would lose a lot of money if they were swept out to sea, so they would be extra careful about them. (wow I sound sort of grumpy and jaded. must be time for evening drinks.)

      • http://www.youtube.com/user/CoraleComics?feature=mhum#p/u LegHitchThis

yeah they were shooting on the beach lol.
when I heard that, I was like oh. ^_^’

      • TeamSeth

I think they shoot more on Vancouver Island than in Vancouver itself. Well, except for the studio shoots or big city shoots. Unless there are studios in Vic-vic-victoria ;)

    • cosi bella

My FB feed told me that the whole cast and crew were evacuated to higher ground.

      *giggle*

      • TeamSeth

HAHAHAHAHAHA that was a real laugh out loud there. Thank you for good laugh in morning. And now I have that church song (which isn’t related to the funny) “Take me higher!” in my head.

  • natteringyeahrobber

Ok, today has just been so weird. Strange that you can be so physically removed from a situation but so emotionally tied to it. Ok, let me just say it, earthquakes freak me the Fuck out. Been through a few, but in the 6-7 range, not 8.9!! That was just incomprehensible. And 7.0 is enough make you want to curl in a ball for days in your bed, or actually your car, because you are afraid to sleep inside due to all the aftershocks. So my thoughts are with people in Japan. Crazy times.

Had to do a normal-life check in LTT, though (is anyone from LTT in Japan?). Anyhow, I could not make it through the Miley song. She has a nice voice, but ughhhh so not my style, I just cannot deal. My feel better music is Big Smith. They are a bluegrass band. Bluegrass always helps me cope with stuff, good, bad, or bizarre.

Some favorites – She Let Me In (only I sub He, for hubs):

Burn Down the House (bad day at work music) – http://www.bigsmithband.com/songs/burndownthehouse.mp3
Land On that Shore (when life makes no sense music)
    http://www.bigsmithband.com/songs/landonthatshore.mp3

    Sorry links galore.

  • TeamSeth

So this scenario just happened in my house:
We’re sitting at the kitchen table doing bills (Friday night woo!) and I’m looking at facebook photos of my sister, going through memory lane a la 2009. And I show Mr. Seth a pic of me and my sis in Captiva Island. He asks, “Where’s that?” and I tell him that it’s the trip he didn’t come on. And then he says, “Oh yeah! Isn’t that the trip that there was a fight because you and your sister wanted to watch Twilight but no one else did? Yeah. I’m really glad I didn’t end up going. I mean, either I’m dealing with people fighting or I’m watching Twilight. Not that I don’t enjoy those movies, but let’s face it, I’m no unicorn.”

Yes, that happened. Now I truly know how much I talk about LTT to Mr. Seth. face paw!

    • natteringyeahrobber

Sometimes when people come over, I try to create my own Captiva Island – which is sort of like Island of Dr. Moreau meets Crate and Barrel meets Forks. People leave my house claiming to have no memory of me forcing them to watch Twilight, but now every time they see a shirtless man wearing only jorts, they become nervous he might be Beast Folk.

      • TeamSeth

This is so weird. I feel like you’ve been eaves dropping in or something because I’ve been trying to convince Mr. Seth to buy these C&B dishes all weekend and there you go mentioning it! Wait, are you the one who does the secret grocery store rob notes?

        • natteringyeahrobber

          Dear Crate and Barrel Bella:

I normally don’t go to Crate and Barrel, but a certain housemate of mine seems to have destroyed all of my glass salad bowls. She has, let’s see, how do I put this delicately, emotional issues tied to my contact with human women. In any event, I noticed you checking out the purple Marimekko Madison sheets today. The way you slowly, ever so slowly, unzipped the protective plastic cover, just to get a sense of the threadcount. Smooth, smoother than expected, wasn’t it? I know, because the minute you left the store, I did the same thing. I could feel the trace warmth your finger left on the fitted sheet. So warm. So right. Nice choice in bedsheets, by the way. 300 count percale. Reminds me of…well, nevermind, let’s not talk about HER, or her room, or her sheets. Let’s talk about you.

And speaking of you, I took the liberty of registering for us. I know it is a bit presumptuous, since we have not properly met. But your bag was open, my pen and paper were close, so here we are. If you agree, write back soon, I have an unusual looking ring waiting for you. The link to our registry is here, and I think you’ll approve.

          http://www.crateandbarrel.com/Gift-Registry/Guest/View-Registry.aspx?grid=4703222

          Keep that window wide open,

Your soon to be husband (I hope! – fingers crossed!)
          Edward

I think Mr. TS has some competition!!

Oh darling, I love you Nat! I also think you have way too much time on your hands ;) Maybe I’m just jealous at your mad registering skills! LOVED IT ALL!!!!

          • natteringyeahrobber

It was pretty easy, actually. Just went to the site and started entering plaid, purple, jacob, bella, charlie feather etc.. and it was ALL THERE. I think someone at C&B might be a Twi-hard or something. The Jacob side chair had me laughing out loud. So did the Charlie Old Fashioned. :)

          • TeamSeth

OH NAT! I just cried laughing!!!! The first item being the Charlie Double. You do love me so! hahaha This is so good. SO GOOD. I bet that someone, somewhere has or will search the registries for Edward Cullen. Why wouldn’t you? I mean, other than being normal and that sort of thing. Epic, you are. Epic, I say.

Oh, and robsfuture, Mr. TS says, “Oh ho, I think we can handle that.”

          • TeamSeth

(no, I didn’t tell Mr. Seth about this…tres embarrassing!)

          • Anonymous

Mr. Seth almost went up a thousand notches for the Jasper quote!!! I should have known, lol.

          • Anonymous

Congratulations, you have just won a million LTT points! (sippy cup, down pillow, Jacob side chair. Classic. nay, EPIC)

Also, I snortlaughed, garnering a Look from MrNutSlut, at this: “…let’s not talk about HER, or her room, or her sheets.”

          • Anonymous

Oh God! That is GOLD. You are a crack up! Love it, love it, love it! Still giggling randomly when I remember…

  • TeamSeth

Okay, just watched the Miley video… first Miley video ever! (I don’t watch MTV, this is also the first time I’ve heard any song from her besides Party in the USA) Anyway, when those horses ran across the long, dreary path she’s walking down, it was SOOOO Lisa Frank! I do hope that was intentional.

  • Anonymous

About to make LTT history right here (but only for myself)…I agree with Kristen!! Not sure this is ever gonna happen again, maybe once or twice more. But anyways, I think this song has a great message and helped me through a rough time in life. The hard parts in life are character builders. Yes, they suck but guess what. I’m so much stronger now having been through them. I like the song, even though it’s kinda cheesy and sung by Miley Cyrus.

    • natteringyeahrobber

Where’s that thumbs down button when I need it…agreeing with Kristen is NOT OK (just kidding!). I’ll remind you of this lapse in judgment later, when you least expect it. :)

Yah, hard parts in life do make you stronger/smarter. Except in the case of being laid off…that just made me more vulnerable, even to this day. Now any time my company has any financial issues, I immediately start cleaning out my desk because I’m assuming they’ll show me the door (a bit of an overreaction; turns out they just wanted to cancel having so many office parties).

      • natteringyeahrobber

oh, and CW had a funny tweet the other day about Kristen. Someone asked him if he knew Kristen could cook, and he replied “Gah! That Bitch!!”

        • TeamSeth

Oh! He’s in my good graces again.

          • Tracitalynne

I know, he’s totally funny and sweet on twitter, which makes the Utter Rejection of him not answering me (three times now) all the more painful. I am so going to sit in my bedroom and stare out the window for 3 months. *cue twirly camera effect*

          • TeamSeth

So, are you not going to be MarbleNutSlut any longer? :’(

          • MarbleNutSlut

hee. depends on what computer I am logged in on. Do you prefer me slutty? ;)

          • Anonymous

I do!! hehe It’s much more fun!

          • MarbleNutSlut

Heh. It’s true, I am a slut for Edward’s Marble Nuts. Girl Can’t Help It.

          • TeamSeth

I do too! It seems so much truer to life…

          • Anonymous

And thanks, now I’m singing “there’s a possibilty”. It really gets stuck in my head good :(

          • Anonymous

            Awww….and now I am blue…..:(

          • Anonymous

It’s okay, it gives me a perfect reason to listen to some Edward inspired music!!!

      • Anonymous

Oh, I’m sure I’m not completely healed from my all that. I’m sure that I’m gonna be a hot mess when I start dating again. Hear that Mr. Pattinson, you better treat a girl right! ;)

And I think there’s been one other time I agreed with K. She said that Bella should have been cooking for her dad in the movies. Totes agree!! It makes her transformation decision even harder!

        • TeamSeth

Not just that, it makes the reason Edward is SO into her and how she’s not a “typical teen” that much more believable. In the films now it’s like “We’re in high school and I think you’re hot. Like really, really hot. And you happen to want to eat me dry, ahem, so let’s get freaky with it and be in epic teenage love forevah-evah.” Which is just not how it goes down in the books. Sigh. Yellow cupboards where are you!

          • Anonymous

So true. The only time we see her untypical is her music choice…Claire de lune is great.

      • TeamSeth

        *hugs*

  • cosi bella

The Miley cirus movie was one of the many that I’ve had to reluctantly sit through in the cause of parenting. Awful movie. (my daughter enjoyed it tho)

Daughter also responsible for dragging me to see twilight movies ….where I had a slightly ‘different’ reaction….

“The Climb”. Is it REALLY about the climb and not the end result? Not sure about that one. Like the song enough tho. Does Kristen believe it’s about ‘the climb’. Easy enough for people who’ve achieved a lot of success to claim that’s how they feel…

If I had to choose a theme song for ME it would definitely be in the stirring, over produced, overly dramatic ‘uncool’ music category.

It would have to be Gloria Gaynor’s “I am what I am and what I am needs no excuses” – always puts me in a kickass mood.

For theme song for my Romantic fantasies (and I am cynical/sane enough to know it is indeed a ‘fantasy’ but huge fun to contemplate never the less) would have to be ‘I need a hero’ – the jennifer saunders version from Shrec2 cos it’s satisfyingly corny and OTT. (Like Twilight)

Bella&Edward theme song: “Neutron Star Collison” – f’ing LOVE that song
Bella&Jacob’s theme song from Jacob’s POV – “Animal” by neon trees is PERFECT.
Taylor – I wanna be a billionaire – Travie McCoy/Bruno Mars – I always imagine Taylor singing the Bruno Mars part!

For Rob, Kristin and Taylor I would wish for them the Gloria Gaynor’s “I am what I am” theme song for themselves and try not to take the fandom too seriously cos it’s all just a crazy game which they have already made their fortune in participating. Fair trade off.

    • TeamSeth

I love listening to “Just Dance” by Lady Gaga. That always gets me in a kick ass mood, except for the line about having my shirt turned inside out–that’s never happened to me. Well, really I just like the “surrender to the moment” aspect of the song. It reminds me that life should be lived and enjoyed, and if you’re in the club dancing and drunk and having a good time, that’s what you should be living at the moment (as long as you remember to drink A LOT of water when you get home) It’s the part where it goes “But it’s alright, I’m alright, just dance. Spin that record baby. Just Dance. Gonna be okay!” I think I like any song that uses non words or onomatopoeia as viable lyrics… such as “scooby dooby dooby” or “pow wow whoa” These are just so silly and fun (and super 80s hehe)

I also super like the Arcade Fire song No Cars Go for the line “between the click on the light and the start of the dream” because it always takes me minimum of 30 minutes to get to sleep, and it’s one of my favorite parts of the day. My best ideas and brainstorming go down then! I even

For my novels’ main characters (Ruel and Emma) I love the Blind Pilot song “Go on, Say it” because they have super trust issues and then can really start their relationship once they’re honest with one another. Sigh.

Theme song wise? I’m a big fan of Murray Gold’s “This is Gallifrey: Our Childhood, Our Home” and “A Dazzling End” (Murray Gold is the composer of Doctor Who scores, which these are from) Anyway, if it’s an epic crescendo, I want it as a theme song. Because the climb makes you stronger, but what’s that worth if it doesn’t crescendo into a final better result? Seen from a classic story telling POV, nearly all of the book is the climb (rising action), then you climax and then you have a short falling action/denouement and the reader smiles and closes the book (hopefully they smile heh). I think this is really why I like Bella’s Lullaby so much (esp. as described in Midnight Sun) because it takes the listener on a journey of their relationship, ultimately ending in an unfinished note with a sadder tone. Because no matter what happens, the creator of the song knows that Bella is going to have to make a sacrifice in order to continue the song.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/CoraleComics?feature=mhum#p/u LegHitchThis

Hmm.. we all have our things that we listen to or do to keep us motivated.♥ :D

My theme song would probably be
Man Research or Latin Simone/The english version. Both by the Gorillaz.
