Atlanta show of course I'm in. Bought my tix the day he announced venue. I'm also going to 2 shows in Nashville. Maybe will have to add Montgomery to list. 4 nights of Simba. I'm in heaven. SQUEEE!!!!

Still trying to figure out where the hell he could be playing. My friend who owns a bar says it's not them ( D-:) but I'm holding out for the local blues group. My buddy with them has been out of town for a week @ JazzFest in N.O. He should be back today or tomorrow, so maybe I'll get an answer then.
If not, I'm getting with the LOD Street Team about approaching Phil to see who they have been talking to.

And my bar-owner friend asked this guy who has a newsletter following the local blues scene what he knew about Bobby. The guy checked BL's mySpace (which only has 1 song right now [facepalm]), said he hadn't heard anything about him coming here & that he "sounded like a Dylan-wanna-be." W.T.F.!!! Asshole.

A few people have asked my where to stay when for the show in Atlanta.

Here is my suggestion-

It's easy access to major roads and interstates.

I would not suggest staying in any hotel near the club. It's kinda of in a rough part of town. It is one of the neighborhoods that is transitioning right now.
AS the show gets closer we can talk more about if you guys wanna meet up for dinner before the show.

I emailed The Earl to ask about parking there. The hotel I was looking at charges $15/day for parking & I was trying to decide if it would be easier to just take a cab to the show rather than pay twice to park. The guy wrote back quickly & we have exchanged several more. He suggested The Highland Inn. It's near Little Five Points and it's a lovely little historic place.
I like the idea of an inn rather than a chain & it's almost a straight shot 2.5 miles south down Moreland to The Earl. The priciest room is $111 for a Queen w/ sitting room. It's $10 for each extra person, & there's 15% sales tax.

If anyone else is interested, I'd be willing to share a room. Some of them have 2 beds. Or we could take over a floor... lol!
If anyone else has already made their reservations, let me know where you are staying. I think it would be fun to all be in the same place.

The Highland Inn is a good choice. There are lots of bars and restaurants around there. I live about 5miles up the road from there.
You prob won't have to pay to park at The Earl. Most places in that area are free to park. You might want to take a cab if you are gonna drink. It should be a pretty cheap cab ride.

Bobby has added another show in Atlanta on Friday, Aug. 21 @ Andrew's Upstairs. $12 / $15 @ door. The venue website says it's 18+, but Bobby's MySpace says ALL AGES. I left him a message asking him to clarify that. Don't know that I'd take Edward if it is- He'd have to hang out in my hotel room the first night.

I'm trying to talk DH into letting me stay the extra day, even if I have to drive back Friday night. Funds are tight at the moment, and the whole thing is looking iffy.

Not sure how I'm going to cover the room & a rental car for 2 days. Ex-DH has decided he doesn't have to pay child support, so our 'extras' money is going for band fees & school supplies.

Everybody please cross your fingers I can work this out.

Yay for Thursday & Friday, because I am coming to Atlanta! DH reserved my rental car today for Thurs thru Sat! I'm only spending Thurs night & will drive back home Fri night. But I'll be there for both & can't wait to see everybody.
