the rest of the ep was fairly depressing i thought....

Up until those last four seconds or so I found the episode to be a little boring. :?

His face there was beautiful, though.

But now Stefan is going to be a big crybaby and the ONE time things don't go his way he's going to go all evil? For goodness sake.

I couldn't care less about the rest of the ep. This part killed me. Mr. A rolled his eyes at me when I swooned. Then he started talking about how hot Rebecca is, but all I heard was "blah blah blah." Who cares about Rebecca? I've made it clear that I only watch this show for Damon (and the totally normal fancy antebelleum balls they have almost every episode.  )

Stefan is SO emo. I'll console him though! Plus, hello, Damon was all emo over Katherine so I guess now it's one-dimensional Stefan's time to shine.

Yeah, but Damon at least had a history of getting the short end of the stick. This is literally the first time ever someone has picked Damon over Stefan. Crybaby.

I have to wonder about the ladies that the Salvatore Brothers have been spending the past 150 yrs with.
I'll take beautiful, bad boy, tortured Damon over Stefan every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Couldn't at least one of their women have preferred Damon?

That's how I feel about Downton Abbey. I didn't watch it at the beginning and we don't have netflix - we have a gazillion premium movie channels instead. BUT my oldest is going to borrow the DVDs from her friend so I should be conversant soon! YAY!

Yes, Ma'am. I found this out a couple weeks ago when I couldn't connect to netflix and I was in desperate need of a John Thornton fix.

You could certainly do worse as far as new obsessions go...

And if it makes you feel better in the three days I've been home sick I've watched his episodes of The Vicar of Dibley twice, North & South twice, joined audible.com to download his books, and downloaded all the past pictures of the day from richardarmitagenet.com. And I watch a cbeebees story every night before bed. It's SO much more fun to be all google-eyed over him now that others are starting to catch on.

his stare is mesmerizing 8-) when you first started talking about him, I was like "eh, he's alright." then I saw him in "the hobbit" and his stare started haunting me. I googled some pics, wanting to know more. I found some fan sites, swooned at his voice, and started to admire him from the inside out (which is how my lasting obsessions start; I don't just fall for a pretty face ;) ) last night I watched several of his shorter programs along w/a handful of interviews & his "handsome stranger" episode again; I love how he has to duck down to enter those small cottages :D ...and then I dreamed about him, so I think it's safe to say I'm on board now: I've enlisted in the "Armitage Army" :P

Yeah, if I'd just seen photos of him I'd probably have been "yeah, he's handsome I suppose...", but I was introduced to him via North & South, which I don't know if I've mentioned it yet, but I am rather fond of it. It would be easy to dismiss that role as just being an asshole who fell in love with a nice lady, but he does a good job of being the asshole in some scenes while showing incredible vulnerability and insecurity in others. And then this happened and I was hooked. HELLO JAWLINE.

Image

I warned my bestie that I might spend all of The Hobbit swooning and fanning myself and she was all 'Uhh... okaaaayyyy'. But then she also found The Stare to be quite arresting. And then I made her watch North & South and she was also a goner. I wish you lived closer. We've started having Armitage parties on Sundays when she comes over to watch Downton Abbey. We've been watching Robin Hood for him (which takes dedication because the show is AWFUL) and we are going to start MI-5, soon. I made her watch the Vicar of Dibley episodes a couple weeks ago and we both died through the whole thing. I particularly love those because he actually gets to smile in his role of Harry and he has such a lovely lopsided smile. And it is, for some odd reason, hot when he has to duck to get through doors.

Image

We've started posting photos and videos on each other's FB walls and calling them the Daily Dick. I'll have to start tagging you in them, too. ;)

all this time you've been raving about "north & south", I was under the impression that it was the John Jakes Civil War saga, then I look into it more & see that it's something completely diff't that's set in England; duh!   I've not watched it yet b/c it sounds angsty. your discription of the "asshole who shows incredible vulnerability and insecurity" tho sounds like Mr. Darcy, is his character similar?

I want to start watching the MI-5 episodes too, tho i don't necessarily want to watch the WHOLE series from the beginning if I don't have to  I'll need to double-check which seasons he's in. I've watched a few scenes on youtube, but I'm totally lost :? and yes, he's so swoony in the VoD! I love how he gets all close to her when he talks to her, w/his subtle flirting. and his colgate smile in the "should've been me" part

North & South is very similar in feel to Pride & Prejudice. Sometimes I forget that it isn't a Jane Austen novel... :? Since the Elizabeth Gaskell version isn't that well-known here in the States most people think I'm talking about the Civil War Patrick Swayze miniseries, so don't feel badly about that. ;) Don't get me wrong, it IS angsty, but it's also quite lovely. I have a strange fascination for all the crazy rules of etiquette and propriety from that era, so it's fun for me to see such a hulabaloo being made over something so simple as a handshake between a man and a woman. And my undying love of English costume dramas... It's not nearly as angsty as Bleak House, which I would also heartily recommend despite the decided lack of hot dudes. And Mr. Bates is in it if you are a Downton Abbey fan...

I've just finished watching the first season of MI-5 with Matthew McFayden (hello, New Darcy!) and I have a hard time following it. It's like trying to watch three episodes of 24 all at once. I can usually only follow what is happening with the subplots and the main plot of each episode is so super duper spy/terrorist cloak & dagger that it's way over my head. Even when I forced myself to stop playing solitaire and put down my knitting and watch an episode without blinking I still couldn't begin to tell you what was going on with that Irish terrorist guy. Not a clue. Thankfully the subplots are interesting enough that I still get some enjoyment out of the show.

Dude. That "Shoulda Been Me" part of the show absolutely slayed me.

Image

And then this part slayed me in a completely different way...

Image

And her response was totally something I would say... :?

PS. Nice new siggie. ;)
