Yikes! Think of Guiness and Marlowe. They'd hate to be homeless and hungry.

LS - just saw via Twitter yesterday that Jen Lancaster has a new book coming out in February...nothing like a little warning in advance! I think it is another fiction, I didn't super love her first one, but thought I would let you know.

Nath - both the creme brûlée and tiramisu sound lovely! I had the best creme brûlée ever at a small restaurant in Bayeux. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back!

Got my agenda for my trip to PA next week. It is icky. I am already pouting about having to go. :|

Awesome about the book! Remind me again in Feb, ok?

What part of PA will you be in next week?

I just googled the exact address of my favorite italian restaurant in Pittsburgh so I could recommend it to Gia, only to find out that they closed down this past February. :( :x I hadn't been there in a few years, but they'd been in the same location for over 63 years and had the best fried zucchini appetizer that I've ever eaten. Now I am sad.

Boo!!! I have dinner plans on Tues and Wed but not Monday. Guessing I will just collapse in my room and order room service. I am trying to avoid hanging out with the hag I am traveling with, and this is the best way I know to do that.

I WISH THERE WERE FLATMATES IN PITTSBURGH.

Just got off a conference call. Now I'm extra stabby.

Someone please send over a piece of pie and feel free to hide some sedatives in the whipped cream.

Hey Gia, I wish I was going to be in Pittsburgh to meet up with you next week. We'd ditch the hag and visit a few of my old haunts.
Are you staying downtown? If so, I'd recomment Primanti Brothers' for a very very casual lunch or dinner. It looks like a dive (because it is) but their sandwiches are a local Pittsburgh tradition. A big thick slice of french/italian bread with whatever type of sandwich you order, topped with french fries, then cole slaw and then another slice of bread. Yummy. They always show these sandwiches when the are showing Pittsburgh on Monday Night Football.

We went there the last time I was in town...I think we did lunch there one day. There was a vegetarian in our group and she couldn't even be IN the place (a little too much drama than was called for, IMO) but I can't remember what I ordered! We went somewhere else on the top of the hill overlooking the city and I had a salad and they out fries on it. That was kind of gross. Doing a suite for the game on Wed night, so that should be fun.

Yeah. I would not send a vegetarian to eat in Primanti's. It sounds like you went up to Mt. Washington. There are beautiful views there. And of course your salad had fries in it. ;) I'm betting it was a steak salad. In Pittsburgh all steak salads (and a bunch of other types of salad) come with fries in them. (Mr. A almost had a cow the first time he was served one of those.)

ImageThis one is chicken, but you get the idea. "Pittsburgh-style food'

The game should be fun in a suite! The Pirates are good this year!
