Good evening ladies (or probably morning by the time you read this),

I'm prouda myself today! I went out to eat for the first time since starting the RC, and I didn't gorge! I ordered a grilled chicken dinner salad, and didn't have dessert at the restaurant (that's where I normally pack in the calories). I waited until I got back home, and the bf and I had strawberries and cream (yay Trader Joes!) with just a sprinkle of sugar. The best part? I don't feel like a beached whale right now! Wohoo!

I also found a healthy chocolate treat for myself (yay Trader Joes again!). They're called Pure Bars, and they're made with nuts, dried fruit, agave nectar, rice protein (which is awesome, bc I'm allergic to soy), and cocoa (*makes Homer Simpson noise* mmmmmm cocoa). :D http://thepurebar.com/pure-products/our-6-flavors/chocolate/ I can't wait to try one tomorrow!

Obava - The Alexander Technique (AT) is a movement therapy method that trains the brain and body to work in better synch with one another. I started taking AT lessons back in 2003 because of sensory issues I'd had since childhood -- due to my neurology (Asperger Syndrome), I had poor balance and coordination (think Bella-level clumsiness), and touch felt like a burning sensation. It was so helpful in alleviating my sensory problems that I decided to train as a teacher. Right now, I'm teaching it in the theatre department of a local college, and I also use it to work with other people on the autism spectrum.

Lisa - I geeked out at The Social Network, since I run social media campaigns using Facebook, and I thought it was cool to see a movie about the (partly fictionalized) birth of FB. I thought that the script was really smart, and it got a lot of things right in terms of the genesis of social media, but I didn't love it -- as in feel compelled to watch it again and again. Black Swan got me in my gut, probably because I've worked in theatre, and I know the blurring of reality that can happen when you are taken over by the character you're playing. I am assuming that I will love The King's Speech even more, because my aunt raved about it, and we tend to share the same tastes in movies.

Claudia - I would say that Black Swan is about on par with Requiem for a Dream -- both are Darren Aronofsky movies, so they have a similar feel. I think the most stunning part of Black Swan is Natalie Portman's performance, so even if you don't watch the whole movie, go to YouTube and look for clips of her dancing -- the girl is fucking amazing!!

Well, I'm off to bed. Gotta get up and at 'em tomorrow and get that breakfast point!

I'm actually doing less than lurking. Just "Ctrl-F"-ing to find my name. I am one lazy fucker  No, actually I've been quite busy.
You are such a darling to be thinking of me :) You and Obava too!

And since you asked, I'm doing ok. Right now it isn't good, but not bad either. I think the meds really help. The good times haven't gotten any better, but I don't have those horrible I-can't-stop-crying lows any more. My first therapy session is the day after tomorrow. I am quite excited :D
Anyways, I have been busying myself with work, drinking and dancing. This past week I have been to 3 dance-all-night-long parties. It was very much fun, but a tad much. I need a bit of quiet right now and yoga is helping lots, I really like practising it.
I'm writing too much about myself, so I'll try to catch up until the end of the week. Also, I'm very curious what you have all been up to.

@cdubs if I remember correctly, you asked what I thought about the EPL movie? Well, it wasn't love, but I didn't hate it either. For me it was mainly sad because the bf and I were going through a rough patch and we both knew it. So we were both overly sensitive to all the drama. He was afraid I would leave like Liz did, I was afraid I wouldn't and would always be unsatisfied with my life. So that night was really a milestone in our relationship and we talked things through. It's only been getting better since.
So I can't really objectively tell if the movie was good or bad since I liked it for personal reasons. But I can't find any flaws, other than the fact that it was a bit too gloomy.

Catch you up later! xoxo

PS: can somebody please send me the link to the spreadsheet? I seem to have misplaced it. Thanks!

That's pretty cool that you are using what helped you to help others in a variety of ways! That's awesome!

I'm glad the meds are helping. When I was on meds for depression some of the people around me didn't understand why I wasn't just instantly happy all the time. Um because that's life people? They just help out the chemistry in your brain to find a more "normal" balance. I am sure that the therapy will help LOADS with that too. Keep us posted on how it goes! And I'm glad you and bf were able to work through somethings and move on to a better understanding of each other. HUGS!!!!

I had a great lazy/productive day yesterday. Lazy in that I barely left the bed, watching movies all day. Productive in that I made my friend's birthday present. I made her an owl hat. It's hard to tell but the cables are made to look like little owls. My phone isn't taking the best pictures of it.

Once again this is a hard one for me to give away because I want to keep it for myself! Luckily this may be one of my last presents for others for a bit and I can go back to more sefish knitting endevours!

Today's breakfast:

I toasted 2 slices of Nature's Own Double Fiber whole wheat bread, sprayed on some I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, & sprinkled it with cinnamon & the Splenda brown sugar blend. I sliced up an apple and grabbed a yogurt to accompany it all.

Brekkie- The Usual Suspects: Weight-control oatmeal (don't even ask me what that means, IHNI), cuppa black tea, Airborne with my meds. meds today include sudafed and ibuprofen because I've been feeling a sinus infection coming on.

For you noobs, this is the breakfast I eat EVERY FUCKING DAY. But sometimes this is my First Breakfast and then I have Second Breakfast, too :D (Anyone catch the "Chowder" reference? Anyone?)

3/4 of a cup of cereal are nothing but a cruel joke. It's like the Midnight Sun of breakfasts. An evil tease.
Anyway, as I'm sure you've guessed by now, I had 3/4 of a cup of special K with 1/2 a cup of milk and a banana.
The snow from yesterday has melted, but the day is gray and cold and gloomy and my oven is actually insulted that there isnt something nice and warm and chocolately and gooey in it at the current time. If it gets belligerant I may need to comply.
Amy congratulations on becoming Renee's cooking instructor. Here's a little gift that will help you take on your new student

Oh Sam! I'm sorry about the laptop, I hope it recovers soon! I don't wish a dead laptop on anyone!

Lisa, Cat, I wanted to watch the social network until i heard that it was not really true to the real story and that bothers me. It's a real story people, the people involved are still alive, why are you taking liberties with it?

amanda, I can kind of see the owls...if I squint and turn my head a little! =)

And yeah, i hate the friend of the tuck, i cringe at the thought that it's still ahead of me. I would happily be anyother thing for however long necessary if i could skip that one

Sorry Gina, I don't get the reference...

Now, everybody go put your points in! And if you can't get to the spreadsheet is probably because you haven't sent me your email address!

go forth and breakfast!

Oh, I forgot about breakfast. It was a lame-o sandwich that I bought on my way to work because I didn't have time to eat at home. It was whole grain bread (although I suspect that it was just colored dark bread, since I couldn't detect any seeds), salami, cheese and sweet peppers.

Lunch was a bit more interesting. Remember how I said I wanted to eat more fish this year? Well I bought some sushi and maki. I had salmon, those pink creatures with limbs and some white fish. I don't know if the fish was bad or not because I could hardly feel the taste of it. Even less so with soy sauce. Anyways, I'm happy I got my fish in today :)

PS: I forgot to tell you how the bf and I went to a hockey game last week-end. We had popcorn and beer and I also managed to sneak in a flask (I love flasks, they make me feel naughty) of absinth. It was my first game ever and I really enjoyed it. They also got in a couple of fights, where I would stand up and shout things like "Oh yeah, that's my boy! You fuck him up good! Yea, yea, YEAH!" I got a few side glances, most of them from my baffled boyfriend.
Anyways, combine alcohol with hockey, a dirty mind filled with Hockeyward images and violence and I almost turn to mush. Good thing the bf was there to distract me.
And now everyone in a chorus: "HOCKEY WHORE!"

this was hilarious and also the exact same brekkie (special K with berries and skim milk)

The lights are off my tree. I rewarded myself with 3 chapters of FF after I completed that task. It is a snow day here and my husband is also working from his home office. I am thinking of building a fire and having toasted marshmellows as my afternoon snack, BUT ONLY IF I GET THE DAMNED TREE DOWN FIRST. Then more FF on my nook. Then maybe some laundry.

Amanda- I can see the owls!! (my MIL had an owl collection and they remind me of her. She passed away about 5 years ago. She never liked me :( )

Mimms- I got a flask from Amanda and one from my husband for Christmas. How did I live without them?! Am I talking about Amanda and Hubs or the Flasks.....? hmmmm. Maybe both.... :)

Just remembered that I need to take my meds. Must stop now before I forget. Oh, I got new glasses. they look like this :geek:

Breakfast:

2 sausage links
1 glass of grapefruit juice
1/2 cup of freezedried strawberries in ricemilk (the creative things you have to do when you're allergic to both wheat and dairy)

It was yummy, especially the freezedried strawberries -- I get them from Trader Joes, and they're delish!

3/4 cup of cereal would make me sad. i eat it out of a mixing bowl. obviously i have portion control issues.

lappy is better after her 10hr scan of the harddrive! next up is a disk cleanup thing and then defrag. i do this once a year to keep things performing halfway well. I also deleted a loooot of shit off of lappy that i don't use. she's gonna be like a newish computer after this!

Yeah, so I'm not even going to bother trying to keep up. It was like Jan. 3rd came around and a starter pistol went off and this forum exploded with posts!!

In answer to a few of you who asked about the Twelve Days of Giftsmas - it went smashingly well. I think Mr.Abs felt spoiled and pampered and loved every minute of it. And if I'm being honest, I loved spoiling and pampering him too :D
It was a really nice holiday for us :D

WC point: I had a bowl of banana nut cheerios with almond milk (Twicat - you should try it) and a cup of coffee with skim. BO-RING. Get used to it; it's what I'm going to have every day this week, and I want (need) my points! I started off last week really strong, and then faded like a vision from Alice's mind when a dog-boy is nearby :(
This week'll be different.

Damn, no time to read all your posts so this is just a drive-by breakfast post.

3/4 c. Organic Flax Plus Raisin Bran cereal
1/2 c. lowfat almond milk
1 orange

Long ass bike bragging post later. Wait, I do remember one post from earlier- Claudia- I think you said you ate light at the buffet? GREAT JOB- here's your gold star! You're so much stronger than me, Doll. We have Hometown Buffet here and a friend calls that place " The Pig Trough".

okay, I'm craawwwwwwling back outta the woodwork here. bleh. stupid work. they started monitoring internet usage at work shortly before christmas, and i got paranoid, so i stopped coming here/twitter/facebook/etc. but i've now reached the point where i really dont care. and apparently i have a shit ton of things to catch up on.

sooo. im bekah. yes, i was the last person with traveling rob, but he is now on his way to a better place. on the west coast. he's had enough of this fricking cold weather. i lost 27.4 lbs in the last 2? 3? rounds of loser. i have at least that much still to go. i have 3 cats who are my babies. im 28. i have a husband legitimately named edward. he's incredibly supportive of my mooning over many other men. he MAY have been involved in filming some sexy times with traveling rob. or not. just sayin. oh, im a lawyer (@rpattzlawyer on twitter). and im vegetarian/vegan.

my role model is obava. and my vampire superpower is indefinite orgasms. for real. :D

now i hafta go back and read 7 pages of stuff to catch up. on the up side, im so late, the old thread has already gone away! sigh.

i love you all and ive MISSSED you!!

12 MONTHS OF ROB WANT TO LEAVE MY HOME AND COME TO YOURS!! He's hanging on my wall smiling at me waiting for someone to pick nearest my number between 1 and 54.

You have till Wednesday to pick a number by pming me, if you want it. OH! If you haven't guessed, it's a calendar.

Also, I never picked my superpower. Vamps who were ADD as humans will actually be able to get all the projects they think about finished in 1 hour instead of 10 years. That's a lot of projects!!! That would be a nice power to have. ;)

Obava - Hey to you too! I have missed you gals, but am so horrible about keeping a good posting schedule! I am trying my best to keep up and current. :)

Found_my_edward - You are too funny! I have to admit, I actually have thought about re-creating the sparklepeen. ;)

Cdubs - Congrats on conquering the buffet! The buffet is one of my biggest challenges. “All you can eat” and ‘FREE’ are by biggest problem words!!! Lol.

Amynkansas - Congrats on moving up to ‘Renee’s Cooking Instructor’……are these new names or is it just me?

Whitney - Your so great for starting all those projects, I hope you can finish them all! And knitting….do you crochet too??

TwilightCat – Way to go on finding healthy alternatives for sweets! I’m going to have to try those Pure Bars.

Mandaliz - You are talented! I LOVE that hat!!

Rpattzlawyer – I’m so glad to hear you lost 27 lbs in the loser challenges! I’ve been gone so long I didn’t know!! :(

Lisa - Any trips planned for Portland anytime soon?

So I had two breakfasts this morning......an artisan sandwich from Starbucks AND a morning sunrise thingy from Subway (I HATE Subway, but Oregon apparantly loves them, so whatever....). So that was shitty. I'm going to try again tomorrow for just oatmeal.

I've been horrible the last couple of days. Football bowl games have done me in. Last night my alma mater, University of Nevada Reno Wolfpack, played and I had to go to the bar to watch it. So not only did I get liquor calories, I ate there too. And then tonight the Oregon Ducks played in the college championship and I had to go to the bar again (oh yeah, I don't get ESPN, that's why I have to go to the bar)......and you guessed it, liquor and food. So tomorrow I've got to get my ass in gear. My Jillian Michales DVD and my ballet exercise DVD (I can't wait to try this one!! Lean legs here I come...) should be here tomorrow. I can't wait to get started.

Well Ladies, have a great Tuesday tomorrow, I've got to get to bed.

oh hello, hello!
Breakfast this morning was a healthy mix of yogurt, blueberries and soy flakes. Yum! And also coffee - I can't function without it.

In my efforts to eat more fish I ordered a salad and salmon for lunch. I liked everything but the salmon :( Still haven't found my kind of fish yet.

Also: I am getting more and more excited about yoga. My flexibility has visibly improved and, although it may be too early to tell, I think it's having a beneficial effect on my psyche already. I went to hot yoga yesterday. And hot it was! 36-38 Celsius Degrees. You do the math :P I got a bit dizzy towards the end, but it was worth it since it was like sauna and yoga all at once. Double benefit!

OK, I'll stop slabbering now. (I learned that new word today ;) )

Good day, Lovelies.

I barely got my 7 hours, but didn't sleep well and now I'm super cranky. It also didn't help that Mom called before the alarm went off today. Mom and I don't get along all that well. ggrrrr! I’m in fake-it-until-you-make-it mode and I *will* make this a happy day.

Same breakfast as yesterday- raisin bran, almond milk, orange.

Cat: I'll have to try those freeze dried blueberries as a cereal substitute. Sounds delish.
~~I'd never heard of the A.T. That sounds really cool. Good for you for paying it forward.

Amanda: I love that picture of you, all smiley & sparkly! Darling. I opt for pic 2 or 3. That actress in pic 1 looks like she has very thin hair and yeah, your hair would probably poof up quite a bit.
~~Love that "Rob pondering" pic. Thank you.
~~Yep, I saw the owls in the hat. I'm impressed with your artistic abilities.

F.M.E.- I love your breakfast best! I wish I could keep peanut butter in my kitchen but I eat that by the spoonful right out of the jar so no more PB for me.

Whit- Thank you for the Rob porn. I love that last pic but I can't help thinking he's laughing so hard he's peeing himself. ha! I also loved your Luna-eating-the-snow as your pic of the day. Very cute. And crazy.

Mimmsy- I'm so glad you don't have those horrible lows anymore. And I'm *really* glad therapy is about to start for you. It'll be tough but you're worth it. Remember, the only way out is through. (and not at the bottom of a carton of ice cream, as I like to think sometimes.) Keep working at this, keep dancing, it's getting better!

Claudia- hmmmm....the Twi cookbook. I'm imagining baked potatoes wrapped in aluminum foil and steak, or deer blood. That must be the Twilight cook-leaflet.
~~I get why movies have to take *some* liberties so the story moves along and the audience remains awake. However I did Google "The King's Speech" (I recommend this over Black Swan, if you were just going to see one movie right now) 'cuz it's such a great story and I wanted to know if it really happened. All the key points did happen, and only small liberties were taken to give more of an emotional punch. I don't know about "The Social Network" though. I'm guessing they had to make up a lot of things since the FB guy (too lazy to look up his name) didn't write the screenplay.

Gretchen, Mimmsy & Amanda- I want to join you in your Hockey-Whoredom! Gretchen- LET'S GO SEE THE T-BIRDS! I'm almost embarrassed to say that I've searched out other hockey books/erotica as well as other Twi FF because I loved MoBS so much. I never watch hockey on TV but I've loved going to the few games I've attended.

Abs- Would you mind telling us what you gave your Hubby for each of the 12 days of Christmas? Did you incorporate any of our suggestions?

Sam- Yay for newish lappy! And we're all eagerly awaiting the sparkle peen...

Amy- Sorry to hear about your health insurance snafus with the meds. That sucks. What can we do to help you get back on track with your exercise?

I should have written up yesterday's bike bragging post 'cuz now I'm just "meh" about it. (still tired, still cranky, still trying) Ok, I'll try to drum up some enthusiasm here. Temps were in the 20's, a few errant snow flakes were falling, I kept the ride short, only 19 miles, but grueling. I cycled in the adjacent neighborhood that is *very* hilly and kept my heart rate up in the 140's a lot. (according to the possibly inaccurate Karvonen Formula, my max HR is 176) So the 140's are still tough for me since I'm having to lug lots of weight up those hills on my bike. I took this pic yesterday as my pic of the day. http://twitpic.com/3p4ol7 I got my HR up to 158 on this short, but tough hill and definitely had to stop there at the top to catch my breath and take that pic. I was happy though since last time I tackled that hill I was at 160 bpm. Bored yet? I am. yawn....zzzzzzz..... The jist is, I tackled many more hills yesterday than I normally do in 1 ride with just 2 things in mind: 1. Century Ride. 2. Runner. It was a difficult, yet rewarding ride. (and a couple "real" cyclists were so nice to me yesterday, one even stopped to chat and showed me a cool, new route on my bike map)

I hope you're having a good day.
