So, we have a magazine here in Canada that has an article in this month's issue about an initiative they have called The Kind Cycle. I tweeted about it yesterday if anyone follows me:
"
Just became a #kindagent at #kindcycle and committed to 5 random acts of kindness this January http://contests.chatelaine.com/r/63KPs3ErqV3?r=582208 … make a day.change a life"So basically they say that if all 4.1 million of their subscribers committed to doing just 5 acts of random kindness that would amount to over 20 million acts of kindness in a single month. It's just simple math, but when I read it in actual numbers it kinda struck me. So I joined. (plus the Lise Watier Foundation - that's a makeup company here, not sure if they are elsewhere in the world too - will donate $100 to The Canadian Womens' Foundation for each person that signs up which is awesome).
They say the website is kindcycle.com - but that doesn't seem to work, so you can just follow the link above if you want to commit, or I was thinking we could just do that as a WC challenge - to commit to X number of good deeds. And to share here. The power of something as simple as buying a coffee for a coworker or opening a door for someone is much bigger than we think. I think.
Anyway, that's just an idea.
PS - happy new year everyone!
