Finally got a chance to try out my brandy new sneakers on the treadmill at work today... and they gave me a blister! And they're not returnable - boohoo!Image

Nice idea on the menu planning, LC, I've tried before... but shall try again...

Jodie & LC -Yeah - that's a very fab expression on Rob, but I also like this one a lot... (even if that shirt just HAS to go!)

yeah, that shirt is pretty baaad!

Speaking of shirts needing to go:

http://ca.omg.yahoo.com/video/win-best- ... 13110.html

Kelbel whatever are you going to do? Balesy AND Taytay are both nominated. And we all know you have a secret crush on Taytay and a massive affinity for Balesy!!! OH NO!!  (i'm just teasing).

PS - Kansas, if my gym looked like that I'd take up permanent residency there!! Holy nice place Batman!

Muffin, maybe the shoes just need to worked in. Try wearing then for a couple short walks before taking them out of a full workout spin. Maybe that'll help stretch them out a bit and keep you from getting blisters. If not, I hope they weren't too expensive. What about an exchange instead of a return?

Abs - they're not returnable b/c i got them on sale - that'll teach me! - so I'll take them to the store and since their specialty is running shoes I'm sure they'll have suggestions on inserts or socks or something that will help. At least that's what I found while doing internet searches on this topic.

Last night I didn't even TRY to eat well. Sigh. I'll blame my dinner (don't ask!) and the fact I forgot to take my vitamins. I've been wanting to use DH as my accountability partner but he does his workouts RIGHT WHEN I NEED HIM at night. I know you guys have offered but not sure how late I can be texting people, so I don't.

I'm also annoyed I forgot my kindle at home, all I have is my iphone for my workout today.

Clearly I need some happiness in my life...

very nice p0rn MM. very nice indeed,

I didn't make it to the gym yesterday but I did go today.

I have made good food choices today and am making steak soup (low fat, lots of veggies) and I am going to make some homemade bread to go with it. I will let you know how it turns out.

the recipe calls it steak soup but it is mostly just a tomato based veggie soup with cooked sirloin in it.
It was pretty good and my bread turned out too.

Kel - rather than worrying about the challenge, how about picking ONE thing you want to commit to and doing that? Just one thing.

Moi - Sigh. I think the main issue I've been whining, about snacking at night, *has* to be related to digestion. So I need to do something about it. Question is - what to do... 'cuz clearly what I'm doing now is not working. Will have to do some serious thinking/reviewing of what's worked and not worked.

BTW - has anyone tried any making new foods for this week's WC challenge? I'm struggling on this one b/c I've already done plenty of food experimentation, and the new foods I'd love to try are off limits diet-wise. Image

Abs - Image What the hey are you posting here? Do.Not.Approve!! Image

Amy - you gotta hang out with ABS more, she's got the right kind of pOrn! (loooove that gif - swoon!)

Just for that I need to get some new decorations...

did you try that digestive tea yet?

Muffinmom wrote:BTW - has anyone tried any making new foods for this week's WC challenge? IImage

YES! Monday I tried a blonde plum (gross), Tuesday I tried a new frozen pizza - ok, not super healthy, but Tuesdays are my late night and a frozen pizza - a vegetarian one at that - is better than a bag of potato chips or some other hastily eaten garbage. And I label read so the pizza wasn't totally devoid of nutritional value.
Wednesday was a stuffed cabbage roll - which turned out pretty good, and a mixed rice salad that was wild rice with apples, cranberries and I can't remember what else cuz it turned out like crap (undercooked the rice and overdid the vinegar in the dressing). Thursday was red thai chicken and rice - which I freakin' ROCKED (never cooked red curry before - or any kind of curry for that matter). Tonight I'm trying veal. I don't know why, but I've never had veal. Or if I have I didn't like it cuz it has never appealed to me, and I've never bought it before. But since we're trying new stuff this week I figured I'd try it out.

Go Abs!! You've tried a whole bunch of stuff this week, that's great! Blonde plum, hmm. All your dishes sound yummy!!

Me, I made an apple streusel egg muffin recipe that I'd been eyeing for a while and it was a total FAIL. I hated them. Good thing I halved the batch so I only threw away 2 muffins vs. 10. I was thinking maybe I'd try lamb but I'm not sure if I'll get that far now.

I had the most lovely day today (so far!) I've been really sick this week and actually felt pretty decent this morning (maybe it was the massage yesterday that helped work out some of the toxins ;)) and I went to a hot power yoga class. HOLY SHIT did I sweat!! I was slipping all around the mat - sorry, TMI? But it was sooo amazing and I think I found a new love. After that I went down to my local farmer's market to get some fresh meats, eggs, tea, and soup, and also found a DELISH gluten-free bread made with almond flour. Wow I could eat that whole loaf. Then Mr. LC and I met up at home (he was at a kickboxing class this morning, fancy) and took Jax for a long walk in the park because the weather is gorgeous today. At home I made 2 batches of kale chips, started my first batch of water kefir, and cut up the strawberries I got on sale so I can freeze them and use them in my smoothies. WHEW. Tonight we're cooking dinner together and then going out to see our friend play at a local bar - the same guy who had me come up on stage for my birthday last year. I hope tomorrow is just as productive as today!

Everyone have a great rest of the weekend!!

That does sound like a nice weekend LC... Hot Power Yoga sounds intense. Glad you found it and it was love at first... sweat?

I am going to go to a FUNctional Fitness class this morning. I think it is cardio and strength training. It will be my first time. I did pretty good on my eating this weekend. I kept my portions small ( I plated everything on small plates) and drank a ton of water and snacked but didn't over do it.

I bought snack sized Drumsticks (the ice cream kind, not turkey ;) ) and having just one a night made me happy and satisfied. I will try that again tonight.

I have a 2 months before we head to europe/uk so I am going to try to ramp up my weightloss. I really want to enjoy the trip and not worry about how I look and don't want clothes to be tight on my. I bought a bunch of things on Kohls.com (shoes and shirts) and tried to pretend that stacy and clinton were with me during my decision making process...so i was able to step out of my comfort zone.

PS I have tried to talk myself out of the exercise class 3 times this morning...but I am surrently in my workout clothes and I told my DD that i was going there this morning in hopes that would make more more accountable....

1. What's this then? You're leaving us? :(
2. I.love.this.idea!! (so gonna do that next time I go clothes shopping. I would love to be on that show. Not that I currently dress like scheiza or anything, but still - how much fun would that be!!!)
3. And now you've told all of us too - so you're even more accountable!

4. He can steal me "pen" any time he wants!!! :D

Abs - sorry for the mixed signals - I only meant I like The Pretty of course! Glad you approve of my postings Image
Regarding the tea - its on order, hope to get it within the week (I buy most of my teas & 'natural' stuff thru the frontier coop - much much cheaper that way).

LC - hot yoga? Um, err, ok.. I looooove my yoga class but hot yoga doesn't sound fun to me, I'll take your word that its good, glad you enjoyed it! Also glad you got a massage, that's always good ;)
Apple streusel EGG muffin? Image not sure what that even is. Sorry to hear it was a fail!

Amy -how was your class?

Moi - for some reason yesterday was a FAB day - got in a nice long workout, ate well (surprisingly!!) and barely ate junk. AND I was able to exchange my blister-inducing sneakers for a new more expensive but comfier pair.
This morning was tough but iw as able to get my butt on the bike. I've been watchign the Kiera Knightley P&P and so far I'm not impressed. About the only redeeming thing in this movie is their Mr Darcy and he still doesn't beat Mr Firth for me. About half thru the movie though, so we'll see if it gets better as it progresses.

Today will be a great day!

my class was HARD----it had steps and hand weights and lots of stuff I had to modify but the instructor told me I did a good job modifying and that she was happy that when I couldn't do something that I at least jogged in place and kept moving. I will go again and hopfully get better.

Although it wasn't cool that the instructor said she was going to play some Old OLD school music...and it was from when I was in high school.

I am NOT moving to Europe, only going to visit for 2 weeks. My DH is bringing some clients over there to tour a facility and they are bringing their wives so he asked if I could come and they said yes. His round trip flight and the hotel will be paid for so that's cool. We are going to germany for 8 days (that's for the clients) and then we have 5 days to play around so we are going to go to Paris and then London and then home. We have NEVER been overseas so I am SOOOOO excited. I am hoping to meet up with Guitar Girl (Jan) when we're there. IF any of you have travel advice feel free to tell me here or in a PM or email. I am just waiting for my Passport to get here!!

Due to Mothers Day yesterday, and having 10 over for dinner on Saturday I'm afraid my plan kind of went out of the window. However, I've tried not to overeat. I feel very determined again today, and I'm making a healthy beef bourginion with lots of veggies and boiled rice for dinner. I had a home made fruit smoothie for breakfast (berries, kiwi, mango and banana) and a free range egg on wholemeal for lunch. I also have fish and salad for lunch tomorrow, so I'm set to go! :D :D

ON a happier note - apparently I'm now Renee's cooking instructor. Image
