7 Things I forgot about Breaking Dawn Part 2

Dear LTTers,

DID YOU SEE THE LATEST TV SPOT?

I did. On an actual TV– which actually kinda shocked me. I was watching something highly educational (pretty little liars prob) with Mr. Choice next to me ignoring my “HE’S SO HOT” ‘NO HE’S SO HOT” fights with myself, trying to decide which guy I was into that night when he said “Is this a TWILIGHT trailer?” and I realized it was….one I hadn’t seen. It was Mr. Choice’s FIRST trailer, in fact. And he asked “Is it going to be good?”

Probably. It’s probably going to be good. I mean it BETTER be right? After movies ranging in this order:

1. Terrible but so terrible it was brilliant Twilight
2. Better but still pretty terrible New Moon
3. GOOD but not as good as the book Eclipse
4. THIS IS ACTUALLY A MOVIE Breaking Dawn

#5 better be “HOLY CRAP THIS ISN’T JUST A MOVIE BUT AN EPIC FINALE” good.

So I got thinking about my expectations. We’ve always told you to manage your expectations here at LTT. And I think that’s no different this year, except…. I forget most of what happens in Breaking Dawn Part 2. In fact, until recently I thought it started in Jacob’s perspective– but that already happened in part 1 (was that evident in the movie? I don’t think it was) but the trailer reminded me of some KEY PARTS that I completely forgot were going to happen. Watch with me then we’ll discuss:

1. BELLA IS A VAMPIRE: I know, I know. DUH. How could I FORGET? Well, I did. She’s not a vampire for most of the saga, so it’s easy to forget that for the 2nd half of the last book she is. I see Kristen/Bella in those images and videos. I don’t see a strong, deer-eating super fast runner. (I also don’t see a mother to a 9 year old, but whatever) (VAMP DIARIES SPOILER ALERT: I’m going through the same thing with Elena. I mean… she’s NOT a vampire right? Is this for real? Also do you love how they totally upstaged Twilight and turned Elena first?)

2. ALICE GOES AWAY: For a LONG time. I have a feeling it won’t seem as long in the movie, but in the book that sucked. I was pissed at Alice. I mean, I knew she had something up her sleeve but eventually I couldn’t help but feel like she just left us.

3. CHARLIE IS SUPER DUMB: Remember how dumb Charlie is? I mean, he barely questions it when his daughter is quarantined for months/weeks with this terrible virus.. and then he doesn’t question that she’s very OBVIOUSLY no longer human. And he seems to be okay with the fact that his granddaughter grows a few years every 20 minutes. COP OF THE YEAR AWARD

4. CHARLIE IS A GRANDPA: And I CAN’T WAIT to see how cute that is. He’s an amazing dad (I mean super dumb– read #3) so he’s going to be the best grandpa. I hope he lets Renesmee pull on his ‘stache. (ugh that felt dirty and was not meant to be AT ALL)

5. SEX SCENES IN THE TINY HOUSE: Enough said. A little too much “Fade to sad” for my liking, but my imagination can fill in the blanks. (and these days a little “fade to sad” is okay where ROBSTEN is concerned)

6. NEW VAMPS: I haven’t forgotten about them of course since we’ve been shoving “New Faces Fridays” down your throats for weeks now, but thank GOD we’ll finally be able to remember WHO they are and what role they play. Cause seriously…. I have NO idea who that guy from Pushing Daisies plays…..

7. THE SHIELD: Remember how Edward can’t read Bella’s mind because of that “shield” she has that offers protection? I thought that was pretty cool & will be interesting to see how that is interpreted visually. And also that leads to one of my FAVORITE parts of the entire saga– at the end when Bella lets Edward into her mind finally. I might lose it there guys– it’ll be like Edward being allowed into my mind– seeing how much this whole thing has meant to me over the past 4+ years…. so if you hear sobbing all the way in Omaha.. that’s just me and Moon in LA crying big ol’ tears….

That’s it! 7 things I forgot about Breaking Dawn part 2 that I’m excited to see!

What are you excited about?

Love,
UnintendedChoice

New Faces Friday: Erik Odom

Dear Erik Odom,
You know we love you. Even though we were fake-mean to you that one time.

And it feels strange introducing you as a New Face. Weren’t you in Breaking Dawn Part 1? You seem to have been around for forever. I’m just gonna change the name real quick to “Old New Faces Friday.” ALSO I have to confess the ONLY thing(s) I remember about Peter are things I read that one time I read Twilight fan fiction (I only read one ever!) and that’s pretty embarrassing:

Here are the first 2 questions with Erik Odom, Twilight Examiner has the rest so hop on over there:

Q: When you walked into Comic-Con [at the end of the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 cast panel], you got some of the biggest shouts out of all the newcomers. How did that feel?

Erik: It was unbelievable. The only thing I could say it compared to was the Part 1 premiere when I walked down the red carpet. It’s just, you try to prepare yourself for it as much as you can, you know maybe the response will be big but maybe it won’t, you try to be ready for
everything … but when it hits you, your knees buckle. I mean my knees buckled. It’s one of the craziest, craziest things. But the fanbase has always been so enthusiastic, so passionate. And I think part of it has always been a combination of people loving the character Peter and just also being on Twitter and being on Facebook and having fans reach out, just trying to interact as much as possible and including the fans as much as you can, you know. Because the fans are what make the fandom what it is.

Q: People love Peter, but they also love Peter with Charlotte. Their relationship’s really special, and I know that that’s something we hope to see on-screen, and I was wondering how far in advance did you meet Valorie [Curry], and you know make it into a rhythm with her and feel like you could portray that on-screen?

Erik: What was great about Valorie, even more so than a lot of the other vampires who I met once we went to Louisiana together, I actually – I didn’t know her personally, but we had a lot of mutual friends in Los Angeles – so through the small world of Facebook, we were able to link up after the whole casting announcement came up, and we actually grabbed lunch before we even started filming, before we left. So, we went to a place in L.A., sat down for about two hours, and after the initial twenty minutes of ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe I’m a part of this; Oh my God I can’t believe I’m a part of this!’ After twenty minutes of us geeking out together about how cool it was, we really dug in and talked about Peter and Charlotte’s relationship and their relationship to the other vampires. You know, because the covens are such an interesting thing, they call the nomads a coven but really it’s Peter and Charlotte versus the world. You know, so we talked about really diving into the relationship, back to Maria [in Eclipse] and back to the newborn army and their relationship with Alice and Jasper, and it was just nice that by the time we got to Louisiana together, we already had the seeds of this relationship planted, you know? It was really nice. I love Valorie.

The Breaking Dawn standoff- we know what it’s about

Dear Breaking Dawn,

I saw this new EPIC FINALE IMAGE (side note: will the word EPIC ever stop being used so EPICALLY?) and immediately disregarded the “Breaking Dawn Coming Soon” text that was in between the two groups. I mean like anyone actually thinks they’re having a STAND OFF over a bunch of words.

I cropped out that text no one cares about for you

Was Michael Sheen like “Oh no! Beller told me that the movie comes out on the 21sth. That little liar” And Beller is like “I REALLY wish they came up with something more creative than BREAKING DAWN PART 2 like “THIS MOVIE IS ALL ABOUT BELLER BEING A KICK A VAMPIRE, BIATCHES” ”

Riggght like anyone believes THAT’S what they’re doing here. It’s clear they are racing towards something… and it’s obvious what it is:

They want to talk to UC & Moon FIRST on the red carpet duh!

Other options if it isn’t US they’re racing towards (but it is):

  • They could be trying to be first to volunteer as tribute
  • They could be racing to the hair department on set to find the least worst wig
  • They could be racing to save the ROBSTEN bear-skin rug from the incinerator the moving company is about to use back from when Rob hired them to remove all Kristen’s stuff. Remember when ROBSTEN was broken??
  • They could be running away from Jackson after he asked for a volunteer for diaper duty
  • Maybe they are running to be on time for Kellan’s Bible Study
  • They might have heard that the Olive Garden has a new happy hour
  • I bet they REALLY are running towards the EPIC LTT party we’re throwing on 11/11 (location TBD (But LA) be there)
  • Maybe they are running towards their nearest airport to burn all the 50 Shades of Grey books.
But they’re most likely just running to line up to talk to UC & Moon.
We’re waiting for you with open arms. ROB THAT MEANS YOU <— watch that again
Love,
UnintendedChoice
WHAT DO YOU THINK THEY ARE RUNNING TOWARDS?

Sidenote: Summit has made BILLIONS off this movie and they’re still using interns to create their photos? Or…. nevermind interns would be better.. they’re using the studi owner’s mom and her 2003 version of Microsoft publisher, right? THEY MADE THAT GUY FROM PUSHING DAISIES LOOK TERRIBLE, GUYS.

New Faces Friday: Toni Trucks

Dear Twilight,

Here are a few reasons why we love Toni Trucks who plays Mary in Breaking Dawn Part 2:

-After she tweets she says “beep” we assume because her last name is Trucks
-She’s on a new show called “Made in Jersey” which would be even better if it were called “Made in Pennsylvania” but Jersey is close enough so I’ll take it
-She lives in Brooklyn and enjoys Smorgasburg which means she eats unlike most actresses
-She’s SUPER sweet and friendly

Here’s our fansite interview with Toni Trucks. Big thanks to Amanda The Twilight Examiner for transcribing this!

Q: There’s not a whole lot of information on your character in the books, so did you have any conversations with Stephenie [Meyer] or even with Melissa Rosenberg, or did you get to build a lot for yourself?

Toni: We did get to build a lot. I did pull Stephenie aside – I think a lot of us did – and Stephenie was, I mean, how rare to have contact with the writer right there every day with us, so it was such a treat. But she really gave us the freedom to create the characters that we needed to do the daily work, with the disclaimer that what we needed to do to get the work done may be different than what would possibly end up in like the ultimate Twilight Guide and stuff like that. So, she definitely prepared us for that, but she gave us the freedom … She told us what she had written and then gave us the freedom to do whatever we wanted to do, and I remember at the time when I spoke to her, she was like Edi Gathegi’s the perfect example because she had written pages and pages of his back-story, and he’s going to be really surprised when the Guide comes down. It’s totally different, but you know you kind of have to marry what’s written and then you have to do your job.

Q: What can you tell us about Mary, can you describe her?

Toni: Sure! The thing I loved most about Mary is it’s such a treat when you get introduced to all of these new vampires, and a majority of them are coming in pairs. You know, they’ve got their mates. And even though you have Peter and Charlotte within the nomad family, our coven is not really a coven. We don’t travel around together, we truly are nomadic. I love that Mary … comes of her own volition. She doesn’t have any real prior relationship, and when her job is done there … You know, she’s not going to come back for Christmas. That’s not Mary’s M.O. And the whole idea of this like family unit for Mary is really foreign. And so she truly is a nomad. She is a wanderer. She doesn’t need to sleep in the same bed every night. But you know she is one of their strongest friends so ended up valuable.

More after the jump! Continue…
