We’re playing favorites (with Vampires) and think you should too

Dear LTT,

In continuing with our recap of our #RIPTwilight week together (and more specifically the Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere) we wanted to share a few videos from some of our FAVORITE cast members.

We all know we love the Cullens– I mean Hello Rob yum yum forever. Jackson is WORKING it these days with 100 Monkeys and terrible outfits & hats out of his system. Even though I’m not into the big muscular type, Kellan’s personality makes up for any d-baggery and you have to love a guy who admits to reading The Purpose Driven Life. And Peter Fach is like the world’s best dad.

That’s established. But our favorite cast members as of late have been the newbies. Maybe it’s because they’re active on Twitter & we get to see their personalities. Maybe it’s because we’ve met them in person and shared a meal and some drinks (and they EAT unlike some Cullen girls who I assume do NOT) or maybe it’s just because they’re all-around good people and they deserve to be on our favorite list. Either way, here they are:

We know, you’re busy. No time to watch videos. You have time for these! Trust!

Erik Odom

Oh Erik, we called you Z-list last year and you read it (and remember it since you mentioned it to us recently) and yet you still talk to us. We weren’t sure what was going on with your jacket at the premiere this year, but it sure was interesting to touch. And we love you because you aren’t afraid to share your deep knowledge of all things Hobby-Lobby. Plus you treat us like we’re not fans (WE AREN’T. WE’RE NORMAL PEOPLE) and your Grandma posts cute things to your Facebook wall:

Toni Trucks

Could this girl be ANY cuter? First she ends tweets with “Beep Beep” (last name is Trucks. It took me a few days to figure that one out. So smart) and then she’s the most real, down-to-earth actress I’ve ever met. Someone give this girl a sitcom. Or a role on Downton Abbey:

JD Pardo

JD is a new addition in 2012 to the “yum” list. Plus he’s on one of our fav new Fall TV shows (Revolution) and is pretty great! From what we can tell in the storyline, they’re making his role even more important, so I think he’ll be around for awhile. We have a joke with JD about visiting Wilmington, NC that comes up every time we see him (listen to the beginning of the interview & you’ll hear it) Plus we will one day do shots together. If we do shots together IN Wilmington I’m pretty sure the world will explode. Or at least the lights will go out (Revolution joke, holllaaaa):

I’ve never done red carpet interviews for any other fandoms, but I can’t imagine they are all as great as the Twilight black carpets. The actors & people involved are great to talk to– even when they get to us at the end after they’ve talk to HUNDREDS of others. I know it’s their JOB and some people are better at it than others, but we’ve had such a great experience with most cast members, especially our new favorite vamps! Oh, 1 of them is a 1/2 vamp if you want me to be technical (SPOILER ALERT)

Hope you love them as much as we do!!!

UC & Moon

Who is your favorite random Twi cast member? Don’t say Rob!

Storytime with Moon & UC #RIPTwilight Part 1:

Dear LTTers,

That’s right- this is Part 1 of 2 of our EPIC story from our amazing #RIPTwilight week together. We wish more than anything we could have taken you with us, shrunk you down a little bit and carried you in our pockets on every adventure we had together. You’d be pocket-sized LTTers. We’d even let each of you have a moment alone with Pocket Edward in our purses if that’s your thing. Some of you could even choose Pocket Bella and we wouldn’t even bat an eye. But alas most of you weren’t there with us and so we’ll do our best to share every detail we can so it feels like you were!

Tent City

I (UC) flew into LA on Friday evening. After big hugs with some of the OG LTTers we had dinner & headed on over to Tent City to catch up on what was going down there.

Turns out not much. They were watching New Moon on the Big Screen at LA Live & as if God was welcoming us there the scene that was playing as we walked through security was the one when Kristen says “They’re NOT Bears!”

I found a sign that was begging to be leg-hitched
Leg Hitch Edward Cullen

This sign was amazing:

how the fuck can i keep calm?

And this:

And all the ROBSTEN signs:

It was basically a 2nd-hand embarrassment dream come true.

Then a HERD of Twilight fans went running because they heard a rumor that a Twi-cast member MAYBE was there. There was no cast member, and if herds like that happened often during the weekend I’m SHOCKED no one was killed. Angry/cold/Annoyed Twilight fans should be AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS. (of course none of the amazing “camping” LTTers were ever angry/cold/annoyed*)

The concert

On Saturday we headed back to tent city for the concert for the campers. A few people from the soundtrack performed like: A boy and his kite (Great song!), Anya Marina (YEP. HER), Paul McDonald and Rosalie Hale (I mean Nikki Reed) and Christina Perri.

Jackson MC’d and if you remember us complaining about how TERRIBLE Charlie Bewley did last year, you’ll know this a good thing. There is a DEF a career for Jackson hosting a show like “America’s Funniest Home Videos” if this acting thing doesn’t work out. He did a great job.

Jackson Rathbone Tent City 2012

Eventually Ashley Greene joined him and they were all cute Alice-and-Jaspery together:

Ashley Greene Tent City 2012

Christina was my favorite because she is a major Twi-hard. She was wearing this pretty red jacket while singing her first song (or two)

Christina Perri and then right before she sang the song that brings us ALL to tears (especially if you’ve seen BD part 2 already!) “A Thousand Years” she took off her jacket and revealed a Twilight T-shirt like the huge Twi-dork she is:

Christina Perri Twilight Tshirt

ALSO she apparently has A Twilight tattoo that says “bitten” on her wrist. Way to keep it classy Christina!

Apparently this was Nikki Reed’s first time performing in public, something she said over and over again. Then she cried. AND had to sit while singing and everyone was soooo sympathetic. She sang. She did fine. Then she sang with her husband and at the end they shared a mic and we threw up in our mouths a little bit.

Sidenote: I think Nikki Reed is genuinely grateful for her Twilight experience & how her life has changed as a result. But she says it so often and with SO MUCH EMOTION that it seems fake. Also we liked her jacket. End Sidenote.

During the concert we saw the most EPIC Buttcrack of all time. I have picture proof and everything but…. for reasons I cannot discuss I cannot post it. But it’s like Buttcrack Santa sent us a gift in his absence. Imagine a chilly California day. You’re in California so you expect it to be warm so you’re not dressed appropriately. Then imagine your buttcrack showing SO much and somehow you DON’T notice despite the cold day and the inappropriate-for-the-weather clothing. Seems impossible, right? WRONG. It was possible. I saw it with my own two eyes. Buttcrack Santa gifted us this.

Then the BIG SURPRISE was revealed when Stephenie Meyer came on stage to talk to the fans (as much as a “BIG SURPRISE” can be when you notice a huge-ass card on the side of the stage that says “DEAR STEPHENIE” in big letters inside…. I don’t know who else noticed, but I kinda figured that was coming!) She said some sweet stuff and then ran the hardest Twilight trivia of all time- which people actually PASSED. And those who got correct answers got to dine with her that evening. Pretty fun idea & I am either the worst or best Twilight fan for not knowing the answers. I’m not sure. (but I think best…)

New Faces Friday: Toni Trucks

Dear Twilight,

Here are a few reasons why we love Toni Trucks who plays Mary in Breaking Dawn Part 2:

-After she tweets she says “beep” we assume because her last name is Trucks
-She’s on a new show called “Made in Jersey” which would be even better if it were called “Made in Pennsylvania” but Jersey is close enough so I’ll take it
-She lives in Brooklyn and enjoys Smorgasburg which means she eats unlike most actresses
-She’s SUPER sweet and friendly

Here’s our fansite interview with Toni Trucks. Big thanks to Amanda The Twilight Examiner for transcribing this!

Q: There’s not a whole lot of information on your character in the books, so did you have any conversations with Stephenie [Meyer] or even with Melissa Rosenberg, or did you get to build a lot for yourself?

Toni: We did get to build a lot. I did pull Stephenie aside – I think a lot of us did – and Stephenie was, I mean, how rare to have contact with the writer right there every day with us, so it was such a treat. But she really gave us the freedom to create the characters that we needed to do the daily work, with the disclaimer that what we needed to do to get the work done may be different than what would possibly end up in like the ultimate Twilight Guide and stuff like that. So, she definitely prepared us for that, but she gave us the freedom … She told us what she had written and then gave us the freedom to do whatever we wanted to do, and I remember at the time when I spoke to her, she was like Edi Gathegi’s the perfect example because she had written pages and pages of his back-story, and he’s going to be really surprised when the Guide comes down. It’s totally different, but you know you kind of have to marry what’s written and then you have to do your job.

Q: What can you tell us about Mary, can you describe her?

Toni: Sure! The thing I loved most about Mary is it’s such a treat when you get introduced to all of these new vampires, and a majority of them are coming in pairs. You know, they’ve got their mates. And even though you have Peter and Charlotte within the nomad family, our coven is not really a coven. We don’t travel around together, we truly are nomadic. I love that Mary … comes of her own volition. She doesn’t have any real prior relationship, and when her job is done there … You know, she’s not going to come back for Christmas. That’s not Mary’s M.O. And the whole idea of this like family unit for Mary is really foreign. And so she truly is a nomad. She is a wanderer. She doesn’t need to sleep in the same bed every night. But you know she is one of their strongest friends so ended up valuable.

Storytime with UC & Moon: Our “romantic getaway” together in LA

Dear Twilight,

I know you were just THRILLED to hear via Twitter and Facebook that Moon & I were reunited again for a sweet 2 days last week in Los Angeles. And I can imagine you’ve been wondering whatever the reason would be for UC fly across the country to spend less than 48 hours in California (especially when she’ll be going back to LA in less than 10 days time for vacation.) Well, today is the day when you get to hear alllll about it.

Tuesday morning I (UC) flew to LA on a flight that she didn’t miss and with Larry411 no where in sight (read about the first quick trip to LA that was almost disastrous here) It was a little sad, actually. Everything was so Normal. A quick 5 hours and 1 Chris Pine movie later, I arrived in LA to a kick-ass hotel in Hollywood complete with an in-room record player & stocked mini-bar that was raided approximately 1 hour after arrival:

After Moon arrived and hugs were given and we exchanged almost identical birthday gifts (ring holders!) we went to attend our very first activity, basically the reason I flew across the country. Yep, you guessed it- We put our hands & feet in ROBSTEN’s hands and feet. (Poor Taylor)

Let me tell you what this was like. It was MAGICAL. First of all, I have the same size hands as Kristen. This probably means we’re fake lesbian soul mates or something. Secondly, there were CRUMBS in Rob’s footprints which is just so typical isn’t it? Thirdly, this Japanese MALE tourist was in line before us (oh yes.. there was a LINE for the ROBSTEN hand prints) and he took about 12 pictures of himself and the hand & footprints. A UNICORN ALL THE WAY FROM JAPAN, GUYS!

Next we helped ourselves to Gin & Tonics in the hotel room while we did some “work.” And by “Work” I mean we had a google hangout with @brookelockart about a super secret project we may or may not be involved with. Eventually we met up with some other Twi blogger pals & headed to the hotel restaurant for what we assumed was a meet up with Japan’s biggest Twilight fan (coincidentally he’s the Unicorn we saw earlier) but instead we were AMBUSHED by a table of Breaking Dawn cast members. We recognized ONE of them (Congrats Erik Odom!) so we quickly sat down in case we were going to be quizzed about their character’s names during dinner (we weren’t)

During plate after plate of Greek tapas & red wine we got a chance to chat with most of the cast that was there. Don’t worry guys– UC & Moon were ON– we asked all the hard hitting questions like “What helped you get into character during the 2 scenes you were in?” and  “Do you have the kind of relationship with Rob Pattinson where you could call him up to hang out?” adding “Can we call him now?” plus  “No? Can I have his number” and of course “How has Twilight changed your life?”

Actually we asked none of that and instead our questions were more like, “What’s your favorite bar in LA?” or “Have any new iPhone apps I need to try?” and “What kind of dog do you have?” because we don’t really care about any of that other stuff.

And then we took a picture of course:

From Left to right name & character & some fun facts:

Toni Trucks— she plays Mary. We can’t remember who Mary is. She says “Beep” after she tweets. We assume because her last name is Trucks. She’ll be on a new law drama this fall & is moving to New York to start filming. Super Sweet gal!

Noel Fisher— he plays Vladimir and is MUCH less albino in real life than he is on screen. In fact, he’s not Albino at all.

Unintended Choice — I play whoever you want me to play. And yes this picture was after a lot of wine which is why it looks like my dress is falling of and I’m up in Moon’s business.

TheMoonisDown — She plays my bff & Vampire life partner. And LOOK at her killer heels (I tripped over them and fell over COMPLETELY btw)

Jd Pardo— He plays Nahuel and is our new (and only) half-vampire crush. He is SUPER nice and not too bad to look at at all. A real “Letter to JD” coming soon. Stay tuned.

Erik Odom— He plays Peter and was, like I said earlier, the only guy we actually recognized. He’s also the one we called C-list that one time and who tweeted us about it. We didn’t remind him of that at dinner, but since we’re mentioning it again and probably tweeting him today, we think he’ll remember. SORRY ERIK WE <3 YOU!

Missing from the pic was Casey Labow who had to leave early. She plays Kate from the Denali Clan. Oh and we can’t forget Jack Morrissey — partner to Bill Condon & beloved hero of “Team Jack.” We chatted with Jack for awhile, but I was on glass of wine #3 and I can’t remember much.

And before you’re impressed with my Twilight-blogging skills, Yes, I had to look up most all of the character names.

More after the Jump!
