RESPECT AmanDUH

Dear Friends,

I have a Cullen Frown for you today:

AmanDUH has removed her videos off YouTube.

Give yourself a minute. Yes. It’s true. We will no longer have her versions of Decode or her own vampire-themed creations or her reenactment of Twilight to bring us daily Cullen Smiles. My dissapointment is beyond words….

People all around the globe twitter are in an uproar over the news with laments, words of encouragement and expressions of their dissapointment

Maybe she’ll move on to do really disturbing fan fiction?

I’m just here lamenting over the fact that AmanDUH doesn’t want to share her “gift” with us any longer

why? WHY would she delete what the world was MEANT to see?! Who will I turn to when I am seeking out a girl in a 1993 striped shirt from kmart to sing to me about twilight?

Um… the world is safe once again?

I am guessing AmanDUH stopped publishing her great works because the response was overwhelming. She was starting to get as much attention as the actors themselves….yeah, thats probably it. I mean, I am suprised at the number of fan letters I myself sent her.

I don’t think I’ve ever watched AmanDUH’s videos before. But I can tell from the still of the video that once was that I’d rather walk in on them having sex then see them reenact Twilight (and that’s saying a lot because it looks like that dude has never had sex, and if there’s one thing I hate to watch, it’s awkward first times. )

Why AmanDUH? WHY!?

Thankfully, AmanDUH left us a (kinda long) video explaining why, where she discusses the haters (we are not included. Because we don’t hate. We love) & shows the mean comments & a message she received from someone saying they would kill her for making such bad music. WHO WOULD WANT TO KILL AMANDUH?

Uncalled for. I’m MAD. So I call for RESPECT. RESPECT for AmanDUH, RESPECT for her art, RESPECT her for her ability to provide us with countless hours of laughter. No one brings us a Cullen Smile like AmanDUH

Moon: AmanDUH I will miss your drawn-on tear drop tattoo, your belly dancing & bathroom sets. You are a rising star that shined too brightly for us to realize until you were gone.

UC: AmanDUH- I’m so sad to see you go. There is no one else who brings tears to my eyes because of laughter like you do. You are a STAR to me. A star of 2nd-hand embarrassing sure, but a star none the less. I will miss you and remember you fondly, always.

Stuff we like other than Twilight

Multi-task: Drive, Eat Cupcake, Take picture

Dear LTTers,

It’s the weekend, so you know what that means- we go have actual lives. We post short, sweet, simple posts & say “see ya Monday!” Cuz we like stuff other than Twilight. I know it’s hard to believe. But seriously. We do.

Now in the past 9 months we may not have had much time for stuff other than Twilight, but that doesn’t mean we don’t like it.

For example, I like:

• Cupcakes
• Kittens & grown-up cats
• Harry Potter
• Rob Pattinson
• Going out to eat

Since this is Friday while I’m writing this, tonight, after work, (are you shocked that I blog at work?) I’m going home to pet my 2 cats, eat the rest of the Oreo cupcake my husband brought me home yesterday (aww!), go out to eat with a few friends and then see the late showing of Harry Potter at the Imax theatre. See? I’m well-rounded.

I asked Moon for a few things she likes besides Twilight. She said:

• Music
• Hello Kitty
• Traveling

I’m pretty sure her weekend plans involve her grabbing her Hello Kitty pillow, hopping on a plane & heading up to some show in Vancouver. Why Vancouver? Well, it’s been like 13 days since she last saw Rob, and I think she’s dying.

But what I really wanted to show you was something I love other than Twilight, but is still Twilight related cause… well, we do run a Twilight Blog.

We both loved the movie “500 Days of Summer.” Hopefully you’ve seen it cause it rules. But in case you haven’t, here is the Trailer…. well, kinda…..

Go see 500 Days of Summer immediately if you haven’t yet. I wanna be Zooey Deschanel when I grow up.

Good Music and a Twilight Fan Video!

Dear LTT-ers and fanvid makers,

It’s not secret that we love a good fanmade video around here. I mean we have a whole category devoted to the great ones and the not so great ones. I think what I love most is the creativity they use in pulling together clips from other movies and video sources as well as music. Now it’s definitely not a secret that we love music around here too and nothing can turn us off of a fanvid faster than a bad song… so when I found these two videos I wanted to share them because not only are they awesome to watch they feature great songs that might not normally be most people first choice for a Twilight related song… So enjoy!

This video focuses on the Twilight story and uses one of my favorite songs: “Maps” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs

In this video they use the song “Colorblind” by the Counting Crows mixed with a cover of the same song by Natalie Walker to tell the New Moon story of Edward, Bella and Jacob. They use Steven Strait to play Jacob since there really still isn’t that much footage of Jacob/Taylor out there. Won’t we be glad when New Moon finally comes out?

UUUHHHggggHHH how long till New Moon again??

Worthy of our Sunday Praise: Stephenie Meyer

Dear Stephenie Meyer,

We spend so much time using sarcasm, poking fun of the actors, finding 2nd-hand embarrassing videos & art that it’s easy to forget why Moon & I started LetterstoTwilight and LetterstoRob in the first place.

This is it! This is why:

Your story! It’s for the vampire world you built and the connection between it’s handsome, lonely hero and the weak mortal who is the object of his affection. It’s for what their love makes us feel about ourselves- what we long for or remember about our lives and experience. It’s for the purity of their relationship- how selflessly they love each other. It’s for the bonds of friendship and family between the Cullens and for the theme of forgiveness and eventual respect between the vampires and werewolves. It’s for all of that!

So on this Sunday, we give YOU praise, Stephenie Meyer, and thank you for the amazing gift in story you have given us!

Follow your Dreams- Twilight style

Dear kids, teens and grown-ups neglecting their responsibilities who make videos like the one you’re about to see,

Moon & I spend a lot of time perusing YouTube for great content for 2nd-hand embarrassment, fan art, fanmade vids & Saturday Am Delight over at LTR. We are constantly amazed at your creativity. We had a conversation about it last night:

UC: seriously, these kids are talented
Moon: They are! I want them all to realize their dreams and go into movies or tv or whatever. I wish I could tell everyone that
UC: They should follow their dreams

I know that sounds pretty similar to the drunk convos we’ve had about you guys before, but we were sober- promise. And you should- you should REALLY follow your dreams! You guys are better than 1/2 the trailer editors in the business!

After watching this next video, I was SO excited to see Breaking Dawn… and we don’t even know for sure that it’s going to be made into a movie (and if it is, guarentee this short teaser film will be better than the actual movie!)

I loved this video, I really did, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to share some of the profound thoughts that went through my mind as I watched it.  Think of it as a mini-commentary:

• I love how I’m feeling the emotion of the wedding…Bella looks beautiful in her dress.. the music is starting to build… and then suddenly, Cedric Diggory shows up!
• Bella’s boobs are CLEARLY not that big… did a guy make this vid?
• Isle Emse? Um, hot. You gave us what Stephenie clearly did not.
• Natalie Portman playing Bella? Well, I don’t like it.. but only because Rob has a crush on her and I’m way jealous
• LOVE it when Edward rocks a Jesus beard & does a cartwheel
• Is that Bill Compton from Trublood at the end? It makes sense.. he woulda hung out w/ the Cullens…

Seriously, amazing job. We’re impressed. And I want to hug that little girl who played Renesmee NOW!
