New Faces Friday: Patrick Brennan

Dear Patrick Brennan (Can we call you Pat?)

We got a chance to phone chat with you recently for the Twilight fansite feature: New Faces Friday and we learned that you, like your character Liam, are Irish and LOVE your Irish heritage. So before we get to the interview, here are (Lucky #7!)

7 Things we learned about Pat

  1. You could have been an extra in The Town (because of the way you sound & look)
  2. You’re CUTE adding to the list of drool-worthy Twilight cast members.
  3. You are, in fact, NOT from Boston and are not an Irish thug (although we wondered after hearing you talk…)
  4. You just had a baby daughter (We hope she doesn’t have super powers and grow extrodinarily fast and is named Nessie. Or falls in love with a werewolf. unless you’re into that sort of thing)
  5. You did not participate in wardrobe theft on the Breaking Dawn set (clearly someone didn’t get to know Rob Pattinson well enough)
  6. You forgot Taylor Lautner’s name because twice in the interview you said something along the lines of “Those 3– Robert Kristen and… those 3” and finally said “Jacob” It’s okay. We call him Jacob too.
  7. (We learned this one from imdb) Some of your family members were/are movie stars. And we’re pretty sure your grandmother was a big movie star back in the day!

Ohh the good ol’ days of Twilight

Dear Twilight Cast,

Let me be a grandma for a second and talk about the “Goldie Oldies,” or the “Good old days” Or “Way back when” or “When I was a kid…”

First… some explanation as to why I’m donning a bonnet & jumping in a caddy with my walking stick, and a pocket full of werthers caramels, and a bunch of stuffed animals in the back of my car (okay I’ll stop). I logged on to BreakingDawnMovie.org to catch up on what’s going on in Vancouver & I saw this:

Ashley Greene looking like someone ate half of Ashley Green’s legs. No seriously. Where did they go?

Gill Burmingham shows up sans wheelchair & looking jacked

and Kristen also arrived in Vancouver- but that was too boring to even grab a picture.

And.That’s.IT! The CAST is in Vancouver. There are no pictures of them together. There are no dinners out. Lunches in. Dance parties. WHY, Twilight gods, WWWWWWWHY!?

If the boringness of airport arrival photos wasn’t enough, I had to click on a link about celebrity roommates and see THIS:

FAKE LEZZIES FTW!

with the caption:

Nikki Reed and Kristen Stewart: The Twilight castmates bunked up while filming New Moon in Vancouver. “We didn’t go out that much,” Reed told Us. Instead, she said that cast would “go to group dinners a lot. Peter Facinelli is a great cook and so he made us pasta.”

(They mean “Italiano,” of course) Sniff! Do you remember it? I don’t really mean the fake lesbianship- although I sort of do- but I mostly mean THE FRIENDSHIP, The discussions of the friendship & the knowledge that the cast actually likes each other.

A friend in Vancouver sent me an email after hearing the 100 Monkeys are gonna play Vancouver sometime soon. She asked what she thought the chance of the cast showing up would be. I answered:

100 monkeys are gonna be in Vancouver: Will Twihards show? YES
Will Robsten? HELL NO. Will cast members whose names we can’t remember show? Probably

And this is what makes me sad: I bet Rob & Kristen haven’t talked to Jackson since last day of filming Twilight. During the first filming we used to hear stories about how they holed up in each other’s hotel rooms, singing songs, drinking & bonding late into the night. Now everyone is so divided. I wonder if the cast divides along Nonsten/Robsten lines like the fandom does? If so who do you think swings which way? Nikki is Nonsten, obviously. I bet Taylor is Robsten. Just because he’s seen the bear-skin rug in person so he knows the magicness is real. Ashley is probably Nonsten too but only because she refuses to believe a guy could fall for any other girl before she hooks up with him. Do you think Bill Condon has a side? Stephenie? You’re welcome to write an anonymous comment today to let us know. Just call yourself “The Original” and we’ll know it’s you.

WHY is it that when cast group news or pictures emerge it’s just about the new vampire covens that no one really cares about? Why can’t everyone in the cast we care about just get alone? Why must they ruin our fantasies that movie-making is magical & beautiful and isn’t, at the end of the day, like a “job” anyone else goes to!? Even I go to a happy hour with my co-workers on occasion. After a shoot, walk down the street to the closest bar & get crunk together! Get Taylor & Kristen fake IDs. Do shots off Kellan’s washboard abs! Get Kristen to sing “Back to December,” dedicated it to Taylor during karaoke. Play SPIN THE BOTTLE and get video of Jackson & Ashley’s make-out. Ask Peter to cook you ITALIANO every night! Just please please PLEASE be friends again. For just a few more weeks while you’re finishing up in Vancouver. These are the BEST days of your lives. You’ll miss them when they’re gone. One day you’ll be an old grandmother like me, wishing for the years of your youth.

Love your ol’ granny,
UnintendedChoice

(Un)Motivated by Twilight

overdue

Click to see how bad I am at my job

Dear Twilight,

It’s no secret that I’m completely unmotivated at work. I can prove it. See this task list from my Outlook inbox? Yep- two of those reports are 32 weeks overdue. Yep. I’ve been hitting “snooze” on those report alerts every 5 minutes since March.

I blame you.

Okay to be fair, I’m only unmotivated at work. And when it comes to cleaning my house. And talking to my real life friends. And finding an amazing present & party idea for my husband’s 30th birthday next week. Ugh. Twilight… stop it! You’re ruining everything!

Although… IllegalWolfLover just sent us these Motivational posters she made. I think it’s just what I’m looking for. These will REALLY motivate me towards being a better worker, better cleaner, better wife & better friend. I’m printing them out and hanging them all over my office.  (I know, I know. You think I’m crazy. Like that picture of Ashley Greene is going motivate me to do anything but write my husband a letter saying, “Sorry. The time has come to confess. I no longer like boys.”) Do these motivate YOU to do anything other than doodle “22 days” and hearts all around “Swiftner” on your progress report due in 20 minutes?

What do you think? Am I gonna get any work done today? Or ever again?

Love,
UnintendedChoice

THANKS IllegalWolfLover for these awesome motivational posters! I hope everyone prints out at least one & covers their fanfic binder with it! And if you have any motivational poster ideas, send them in!

A tear jerker Twilight Thursday

Dear LTTers,

We’ve shared this week about the crazy letters we get from special Twilighters who provide us with countless laughs.  But for every 10 25 crazy emails we get, we read one that brings us to tears.  Today we’re going to set-aside the normal funny jokes & banter (I know you don’t believe me- you think I’m gonna post a picture of Buttcrack Santa singing “Friends are Friends forever” with Tequila Tomas, but I’m being serious) because we received a letter that touched us so deeply that it can’t not be shared:

To me the Twilight Saga has more meaning than most.
It has actually changed my life!

twibooksI know that sounds crazy but please let me explain:

Almost 3 years ago I had an accident that resulted in a head injury. I have been trying to re-learn everything, but without short term memory, it is a huge, frustrating, challenge. The best way to describe my life is like living the movie “Fifty First Dates” without the humor! I feel “lost in space” most of the time. My brain now reacts like pieces of a puzzle that have been thrown up in the air, and I am constantly trying to grab them to put them back in place! Reading had always been my escape- my passion- until the accident. Since then, no matter how hard I tried, I either couldn’t understand the most simplest of words, or couldn’t hold on to the information long enough so that I could follow the story. I had all but given up hope. Then came Twilight!

My daughter knew I’d love the movie, but because I can’t ever go out (It’s very hard with a head injury, you look “normal”, so people don’t understand if you’re dizzy or say the wrong word, and it became too embarrassing (especially when people assumed I was drunk!) I stopped going anywhere). So she waited for the DVD to be released and didn’t tell me she also bought the book. Using the movie as a guideline, I tried to read the book. What I couldn’t follow or understand while reading, I would use the movie I had loaded onto my computer, to refer to. It took many months and lots of notes, but I DID IT! I read my 1st book! I can never find the words to express how I felt the day I came to the last page! A precious gift had been given back to me!

How do I thank everyone for creating a movie with characters that were interesting enough for me to WANT to read the book. A story, so well written that I REFUSED to give up until I finished reading it. Although I lose pretty much all of it after I sleep, it’s a worthwhile challenge to watch the movie and read the book every day, to keep practicing! (Although I have to admit on a couple of occasions, I made myself stay awake all night because I was at such a great part in the book, I didn’t want to lose it!!) I must hold the record for having watched and read Twilight the most times!! A friend of mine was even keeping count for awhile, I think she stopped after 122 or something! I wish I could personally thank Stephenie Meyer, Melissa Rosenberg, Catherine Hardwicke & the entire cast for giving back to me the gifts of courage, strength and determination. Who knows what is next, maybe I WILL find the courage to go OUT to see New Moon! The thought alone terrifies me, but I know that I have to keep trying, that I can NEVER give up because dreams do come true! My most sincere thanks to all!

Sincerely,
Cyndi

How many tissues did you go through during that story? To quote Jessica Stanley, “I know, right?

Cyndi shared with us that LTT/LTR have made it onto one of her infamous post-its, to remind her to read it everyday! And even though it sometimes takes her hours to read what we write, when she finishes and ‘gets’ the joke, she is laughing along with all of us!

Cyndi- you joked that you were going to have to write a post-it note to remind yourself that your letter is going to be posted. Hope the reminder worked & we didn’t scare you! Thank you again for sharing your beautiful story and not only touching me & Moon, but I’m guessing everyone who reads this post today!

Kellan bear hugs from both of us,
UC & Moon

PS: Decided to throw you a little “Cullen Smile” after the jump Continue…
